The other is it will be OG for if it goes in as a pistol.

Right now..the SA85mP is sent as a pistol and the importer we are using may or may not want to try to submit the HD18 as a pistol also.

Why not simply import as a rifle without the front sight base pinned, but included in the box with hardware? It would be simply a matter of putting the front sight on lightly with a rubber mallet, then driving in the pins.

At the factory, put it on, align it, drill it, pin it, take it off and toss it in the box along with pins, import as a rifle would be my unsolicited advice as well.

    It would be cheaper too.

    I will ask for that.

The danger of doing it as a pistol is that it would effect the supply of 54R ammo.

I am told the barrels are half way done.

    Seeing the work order.

The barrels came from Walther Lothar and it was for another project

What difference does it make if the flashhider/front sight base is pinned normally or blind pinned? I'm not familiar with the restrictions.

Needless to say, who would even want one? I’d be afraid to even pick up a gun with a flashhider!!!

If a rifle with a flash hider is non-importable could you do this legally? Seems like it's not an option.

It would be nice if that worked as it's not too difficult to install the flash hider if it's just like the SVD. The SVD flash hiders aren't real tight to the barrel but the pins are. You have to be careful pounding them in as the pin will mushroom. Pressing them in works better.

Back when WASR and SAR rifles were imported, they were brought in as single stacks and modified to double by opening up the mag well. Seems likely this is OK too.

Anyone know how did Century Arms import most recent batch of PSL 54? Maybe because it come with a brake instead of flash hider?

No bayonet lugs on the newer import batch as well.

If not too late why not import rifle with muzzle brake on it also import flash hiders with locking pins and sell them as spare parts.

From what the paranoid import lawyer said..

If we did that..it could mean we are circumventing the laws.

But we are sending the entire front end setup on the side that is not neutered.

    ^^
How did I have a feeling this was where some of the confusion was?
    Want to buy:
    1966 East German AKM kit
    TYPE 1 kit
    North Korean kit
    Serbian M76 sniper vest (M-99 A3)

If I was not on some government watch list, I'd be insulted.
