    MPi-KM at Atlantic

Did anyone grab one of these? They sold out within an hour after I saw the email.

Saw them while still available, wondered if they were scrubbed and/or mixed kits.

They weren’t scrubbed but they didn’t advertise they are matching.

They looked like ass imo. Hard pass. Scope rail, rec markings may not match kit, ect. Just gross.

Yeah I didnít like the errors either. But they did sell fast, so some guys wanted them and possibly didnít care what was incorrect.

So the MPi-KM shows up a few minutes ago... turns out they are 100% matching kits, possibly unissued. However, as many have pointed out they are pretty friggin ugly, not even close to factory finish, a silly optic rail, and generally just "over restored". Admittedly if it has any finish other than blood or rust it's over restored to me.

Don't you want to slap these guys that mess up a perfect factory finish? This would have been an FANTASTIC kit but oh well.

So, do I leave it alone and hate it? Or do I make a postie out of it? I have a reweld factory receiver and FCG I have been trying to find a use for... But it seems like sacrilege to put it on a refurbished build.

    Thoughts?

I can't figure out idiotic business decisions like this. They could have sold matching, EXC condition kits for the price of the finished rifles. Dumb fuckery at its finest.

100% agree, I have a EG barrel (my only one) but no way it’s going on any Cerakote’d kit, and for damn sure not on a postie. If this had been an unmolested kit I would have considered it. Like Azak said, it’s a dumb f*ck thing to do. I would have paid more for it in kit form and they could keep their cheap rivets and finishing. Oh, and their optics rail.

Kinda hard seeing how they can really screw up the factory finish. The german AK had the most beautiful finish ive ever seen on a AK. Even for the butchered AK that they built, i guarantee if they matched or replicated the factory finish they could have got more money.
    Those poor german AK’s....

A pic of the finish on my old 1971 german kit.
