So, would you feed, defend or arm your neighbors?

So how far does being your brothers keeper go?
I have a friend who did so after a natural disaster, and he feels that he got burned and will never do it again.

Depends on the neighborhood. Always good to take care of each other as you may need them. Extra set of eyes, hands, skills.....
But are we talking several households of deadbeat losers?

I've got good, but not necessarily informed neighbors.
A lot of Cops, retired military, but more than a few people who need ? tattooed on their forehead.

Itís a tough question, but for sure Iím not giving my neighbors my guns or food, the most I can do for them is feed their kids and only for a short period of time before they start feeling entitled to it.

In my neighborhood I think it would be in my own rational self-interest to help defend and/or arm at least several of my neighbors. In part because I live in a rural community where neighbors still know and help each other because in the country mutual aid is necessary for survival. But your friend's experience is interesting.

I have skills and resources that my neighbors don't and vice-versa. As an example: one neighbor helped me repair my tractor without asking for any money (although I forced him to take some locally-grown pork as a gesture of thanks) when it broke down. Even though nearly everyone in my community has at least hunting firearms in their household I'm not sure how many have self-defense style firearms, firearms training, and a cache of ammunition. If a trusted neighbor or friend needed a long-gun or handgun and some ammo I think I could spare a couple in a time of need.

Yep, I would arm my neighbors, and "might" share some food. An advantage to where I live is a very large Amish community that has the skills needed to weather a really bad event. Smaller communities may have an advantage but only if they are willing to work together.

Depends on the neighbor and it varies house to house. For my immediate neighbors, Old Bitch on one side can shrivel up and blow away for all I care. The nice elderly lady on the other side I'd definitely help out.

    Arm my neighbor?

Unlikely, but I guess that depends on the neighbor. I'm pretty sure all of my neighbors have guns anyway.

    Feed my neighbor?

If I could spare it, sure why not. I live in the country though, so there's plenty of animals around.

    Defend my neighbor?

Yes, if I liked the person, and it's not a problem they created.

And yes, I'd also suck a dick for 5 million bucks if that was your next irrelevant question. All hail the Pizza King and his glorious crown of pepperoni!

all my neighbors are chinese or indian. they stick to themselves now..dont see a need to change that if SHTF. Ill arm my family, feed them and protect them. My neighbors will likely leave and run away anyway if it gets that bad...

I have one neighbor that I would. The rest I am probably already feeding and protecting via welfare.HUD is a neighborhood destroyer.

My elderly neighbor stepped up to the plate several years back for me. I had an incident with local law enforcement that got way out of hand very quickly. A deputy decided that a parts truck that had been sitting in our field presented some sort of danger. The next thing I know there are firearms pulled everywhere with law enforcement coming in from all directions. He(my neighbor)blocked the road with a car and armed up. He also notified the Leos that if me or my brother were injured they better call for body bags because he had their back. That's a good neighbor. No disrespect to law enforcement,as my father was a deputy at the same dept that caused this. So yes his elderly wife would receive help from me.

My neighbor Kelly is an ex biker woman. Her husband left her 3 months ago. She is 40 and very HOTT. I would give her a few boxes of Golden Tiger ammo and some hot sausage as needed.
