Type 1 barrel, where to buy one?

Im in need of a virgin US made barrel for a type 1, anyone know who sells them? Type 2 barrels have a slightly different profile for the gas block and handguard retainer. Thanks in advance.

Pretty much the only option is a T3 barrel
You'll only need to reprofile slightly ... as in remove material
Gas block and front sight journals need to be a bit longer to the rear.
I used a AK Builder chrome lined on mine and got one for the next folder build.

    As for T2 barrels
Id think an early one will work as is
They use the same blocks as a T1

A member here was planning on sending an example to be copied, but I don't know if that happened.
    Want to buy:
    1966 East German AKM kit
    TYPE 1 kit
    North Korean kit
    Serbian M76 sniper vest (M-99 A3)

If I was not on some government watch list, I'd be insulted.

If someone wants to coordinate a deal with AK Builders, ill loan them my shot out Type I barrel to use as a pattern.

I worked with Marty the chief machinist at AKBuilder a few years ago.
I loaned him a T3 Russian and a Zastava M64 barrel when they were starting to produce those barrel types.

Even though he had the dimensional drawings., having an actual barrel to compare was beneficial.

Dunno if they have a market for T1 barrels but if it is a simple mod from a T2/ T3 they might go for it.

If a threaded blank could be obtained profiling one to look 100% correct wouldn’t be to tough.
The flange not looking right is the only real difference between T1 and T3 visually.

Maybe AK Builder would sell one un profiled?

Shouldn't be much more than a radius correction and some Z lengths changed on the journals. Sent an email.
