Someone got back to me and replied that other people have asked in the last few months. They are going to try and find a picture of what needs to be changed. A run of 50 is standard and a run of fewer barrels will cost more.

I made it quite clear someone is offering them a rare opportunity to make a copy from an original.

    I'm in for 1, possibly 2.
    Want to buy:
    1966 East German AKM kit
    TYPE 1 kit
    North Korean kit
    Serbian M76 sniper vest (M-99 A3)

If I was not on some government watch list, I'd be insulted.

They sent another email and said they are too busy to do a run of custom barrels.

Anyone try other barrel makers? Bartlien makes custom barrels. Im sure they would profile the blank if we could get them.

I have a local machinist I can run this by. He is actually turning my next batch of AKSU barrels currently, and is a pretty detail oriented guy and pretty gun savvy at the same time. Is there anybody out there that makes CHF barrel blanks? If anybody has an accurate drawing, I can take it by his shop and check with him. I already have a company I use for chrome lining. They charge ~20 per barrel when doing batches of 100 barrels.

Originals were not CHF. That tech didn't exist there till the late 60's to early 70's.

That surely makes things a lot simpler then. $50 per blank at GM Just have to factor in machining.

If I remember right, chrome lining also wasn't a thing til later correct?

Ok cool, they were chrome lined. Easy enough. Forgive my ignorance on the topic. I got away from type 1 stuff quite a while ago, so it won't be anything that I need personally. Just something I thought I would offer since Curtis isn't interested.
