    Another 1985 (ish) Russian AK74.

The bottom photo is the raw image that was in "the AK47 catalog volume 8". The other image is of the same rifle, but didn't fit when I did layout.

Interesting. Was it common to have different mold numbers within a couple years?

Probably common, based on the amount they were pumping out.

I have good images of 1977, 79-83. 85-91. With the exception of the 77, all have been published. There used to be a nice 1984 on Doug's old website, Automats in Action.

This one? - Projects Page 8

Checkout this website mirror by r/ak47 mod: http://thinlineweapons.com/AIA for more Avtomats in Action pages that have disappeared. We haven't got everything up, but a lot of it is.

    Yep!

That particular rifle actually belonged to a Swiss collector, Andre.. Sadly, he passed away.

Yes that helps, Sorry for the late reply, busy time of year for me right now. Off of my memory, so far I have not found any correlation of mold marks to year. Of the limited info (pics) I have there is no rhyme or reason. Only some stamping on some later gas blocks seem to identify about when they were used, but thats just a guess right now.
