    Mod 63 Parts Kit #2

This is the 2nd parts kit out of the 2 I got the other day. I just love the battlefield pick up look on this one.

Very nice! One of the later 1964's I've seen - based on the letter prefix. The numbered triggers are cool on those early ones. Amazing those matched parts stayed together that long.

BTW - Keep your BFH away from my AK!

yes, it's totally amazing they stayed together. I couldn't believe both of these kits had 10 numbers matching parts each!

    Nice kits.
    I scored a type 1 Romanian bayonet.
It has the snap ring hanger vs the larger or nylon frog.
    Serialized EK2048.

I'm thinking it is 1964 or 1965 era bayo.

The early ones have an italicized engraving font. The font will match the font found on the bottom of the sight leaf. I'm convinced the sight leaf and bayonet were engraved at the same time before being placed in the factory crate.

I recently found a DM prefix early bayonet. Note the early font. Close but not quite a match to my DE prefix kit.

I have one other Romanian type 1 bayo that is an AB prefix. I keep it with one of the 1963 original barrel kits I got from one of the old vendors.
    It is in excellent condition.

You don't see too many of the early pattern with the low alpha series and the snap ring hanger.

Pretty many variations in the frogs and such and some color variations.
I'm not a bay collector but I pick up an interesting one here and there.

They were once very I expensive.
I got the latest one at Knob Creekfor $15 from Northridge. It was in the "seconds" box. Has a dent in the scabbard.
