    imported at 80%, fully assembled

Saw this and thought it was awesome. What a great idea and very authentic/correct. If you love Romy's then you'll love this: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/820271506

It doesn't say it was imported at 80%, just that it's an 80% parts kit. If you read it carefully it says

ATF Approved AKM 80% parts kit. This kit is all new manufactured Romanian parts from the Cugir arms factory. The barrel is Romanian hammer forged, chrome lined, properly head spaced and pinned. The gas port has also been drilled. Receiver shell is fully heat treated with the rails welded in and original Romanian style selector markings engraved. The front and rear trunnions have been properly installed and riveted in place. Trigger guard and magazine release has also been riveted in place. This kit does not require a FFL and can be shipped directly to the purchaser.

It never says it's a Romanian receiver, or that it was assembled at Cugir. Looks like just one of the new production parts kits populated on a M&M rommy barrel and a recreator flat that hasn't been finished?

Does the seller have a website or something stating they're imported at 80%?

Going to be a pain to drill those holes accurately you would have to remove trigger guard to use a drill jig.

Pfft. I built my AK and drilled everything without a drill jig. Its not terribly hard to make do without one. You just measure everything accurately, get a guide hole made with a dremel, and then use your drill of choice.

    Jigs are just a convenience.

Anyway, looks like this item hasn't been bought yet. I'll bet people are a little leery of it.

As mentioned previously, these aren't imported like this. Recreator actually pioneered this a while back using G kits if I remember right, really cool concept and ideal for those who want something sorta DIY/a clean receiver without markings, but don't have the tooling/space to do a proper build.
