    Nak9

I did a search and didn't find a single thread with NAK9 in the title, so I thought that I'd share pictures of my latest AK. I have an AK-9 as well. They're similar, but the NAK9 has a longer barrel. The muzzle is threaded with a working detent, so that's a bonus as well.

I don't know why it does not get much love on YouTube. Big channels are reviewing other brands. MAC said it's poor quality. Whatever. My answer would be: WASR-10.
If it is on par with WASR's, it should be OK. They keep on going pew pew. It's what matters, right?

Yes, it does not have a last round bolt hold open. Many of them don't.
They got it right from the beginning with the shorter bolt travel to the rear.

Glock mags and a low price.
    What's not to love?

I agree. I was actually impressed with the quality. It not only looks good for a Romanian AK, the fit and finish looks good compared to most semiautos. I'm very pleased with my AK-9 and this one looks better.

I'm pretty sure that I will. I just have to come up with the best folding stock option. I'm open to suggestions.

    Romanian wire folder.
Or if you prefer the M4 look, a foldable option for the buffer tube then. You have a few options.
I like the MFT battlelink so don't listen to me.

A Romanian wire folder would be my first choice, but I'd have to replace the rear trunnion. I don't think that would work with the spacer that's inside the receiver at the rear.

Looks pretty nice to me whats not to like about it?
I have never had a WASR not perform perfectly so I am sure the 9 will run just fine.
The Romanians know how to build a solid AK.

I have not shot it yet, but hopefully this weekend. I checked and it does appear that the rear spacer will work with a regular Romanian fixed stock rear trunnion. I'll have to drill out the existing rivets, drill a hole for the forward long rivet, install short rivets to fill the bottom to holes (one per side at the rear bottom of the receiver) and install the two long rivets. It should be a sweet looking build.

What made you decide to get a 9mm pistol (future rifle)?

I am trying hard to justify the need and/or purchase.

I just buy it because I like it and really like AK's. I don't justify it other than that. I figured out a long time ago that justifying my purchases was too limiting. The wife's on board too. So long as I take care of the family and she gets whatever she wants (she's pretty frugal), then she doesn't care what I buy.

BTW, if you're looking for a 9mm semiauto type pistol that can be converted to a rifle, I'd honestly recommend a Stribog first. It's really a quality piece at a great price.

I shot it yesterday and am happy to report that it ran 100%. I started with 25rds of Magtech 115gr FMJ. I then installed my TiRant 9 suppressor and ran another 25rds of the same through it. It was kind of gassy with the suppressor installed, but I didn't get any particles hitting me in the face while shooting. Finally, I shot 50rds of Speer 147gr TMJ through it. I liked it so much that I'm probably going to get a RAK9 and perhaps a RAK22.
