Deciding between a PKM, and a 50BMG converted DSHK is a hard decision for me. PKM easy to find ammo and could be bump fired for the giggles if wanted (Done like how they do the RPK in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8O05T77pgY), but DSHK... who has a DSHK in the states??? Makes me wonder what the price of said cut up kit would be like, also the barrels... Being they were made "machine gun barrels" you cant get them, and companies out here arent exactly making them... Jeez you are quite the tempter though. Right now the stuff on my plate: Dragunov, PKM/DSHK, RPG trainer, Hungarian M44 Mosin / 19/30PU, AMD65. My job cant fund these mannn..

Im sure if a DSHK/PKM kit came around funds could be found like what I need to do right now for that HD 18 haha..

Edit: Found out 12.7x108 is in fact obtainable which surprised me, for a "cheap" price $4 a round (I was expecting to pay near 14.5x114mm prices or close to)

Its obtainable but you have to be careful where you are getting it. I once went to a machine gun shoot in Slovakia back in 2015 where people brought their Full autos.

A guy brought his DSK that was from a T55 tank and he converted with a ground mount.

Another guy came from Albania and was selling ammunition that was either Chinese or Albanian made from the 70s and 80s.

Lets just say.......his poor DSk needed extensive work.

https://1drv.ms/b/s!AtqLcx1BCzS1gt8r26I4nsU1og44Ag the FEG machine pistol. It's actually pretty controllable and the model we made for state side import uses Uzi magazines. I kept pushing them to do this and we have 100 semi auto receivers ready to go to make it.

    https://1drv.ms/b/s!AtqLcx1BCzS1gt8tQsuhzygHt74XoA the elusive NGM model.

    so much love.

the last catalog from 2005 before things went to the ground.

    It'd be Tula brass case.

Honestly if the DSHK or PKM kit is sub $4k... and it is able to be imported mid next year (to get more money together), mark me down as #1. Ya heard it here first folks!

I separated the Hungarian barreled SKS's and Hungarian arsenal rebuilt SKS's. It looks ugly here but these will have Soviet receivers but the rest of the parts are Hungarian including the wood which is just a reproduction of the Russian style wood. Rebuilding was done in the 1970s and 1980s and I asked the Chief Engineers why wasn't the wood made unique like the East Germans did with theirs, and he said that from his research, the shellac varnish setup help up a bit better as most of the rifles are used by the ceremonial and honor guards and they are outside quite a bit in all types of weather.
The Hungarian developed one didn't hold up better but was more durable and less subject to wear and tear unlike the Russian style setup for the furniture, it's just the Russian looked nicer and more presentable.

They look messy but the finish is good and I am sending them to the refinishing people to check it out. I found well over 600 of them that are definite Hungarian rebuilds with 02 everywhere indicating FEG rebuilt it but for anyone knowing, I can't find any FEG made receivers, just FEG barrels, springs, bolts, and little stuff.

wonder how these could get imported with the Russian receivers. Darn shame as they are a interesting collectors item.

If our country was not so messed up with regulations, you would be able to bring those back with you or at least ship them to the U.S., pay an import tax and be on your way. But you have to go through all the cost and time dealing with bureaucracy instead.
Dear Socialists: I have no money for you. I spent it all on guns and ammo.

So true you would like to think that if you had a collectors license that you should be able to buy these collectors pieces for your collection. The Feg rebuilt sks would be a great addition just like the early 49 Russians that the Canadians all got to buy but even with a form 6 we cannot import. These regulations are bad and serve no purpose. I asked about getting ak kits without the barrel and receiver and that cannot be done either. Hungary has some very good collectors ak rifles but may not get access here unfortunately.

Several importers said they are importable being they are C and R and over 50 years old and will be considered Hungarian and not Russian.

It is Hungarian in my opinion, it's been here since the 50's.

They should be good to go considering they've been in Hungary forever. Same deal with all the Chinese SKS's that have been coming in, they've been sitting in a different country forever.

I believe the same concept applies to Russian made surplus ammo, which we usually get in from ex combloc countries.

Never really wanted an SKS before, but I suppose my commie weapon collection wouldn't be complete without one. Rather have an RPG and PKM though. 🙂

Just remember, when everyone else was salivating to get on a list for Dragunov's and High Powers, I was crying out for an SKS group buy.

Very nice this is official confirmation that Fegyver- és Gépgyár is the third maker to pursue the 5.56 Kalashnikov

I'm a query guy to begin with.

I get more joy watching others shoot my guns and I like seeing other collectors with their stuff. I don't even have my blue furniture AK stuff for myself.

I also don't have an AMP69 also because of the rarity and there were collectors that wanted it more than myself.

I'm happy with what I got, I have 6 FEG AK rifles and setup using all original receivers and barrels. Had a PKM but sold it but will pursue another one.

I've talked to the FEG engineers and like I said, they were SHOCKED that milled receivers were so much easier to make. It's kinda throwing all of their mental and project plans into the dustbins.

I personally foresee a AK55 update more likely than the NGM project. But an NGM milled AK55 setup? Hmmmmmmmmmm

Still talking with importers and everything is still here.

If you do a faux Valmet/Rk95 you should name it the Lazlo-21 for 50 years after the M/71 5.56 AK debut

The 1st setup after our 1st big sale is the barrel CHF being upgraded and reconditioned.

That would be a great investment, no doubt. People love their CHF CL bbls.
