A loaf of bread used to be a nickel too....so? Inflation & supply and demand are a thing people. Also, leftists across the world work 24/7 to make things more expensive in a tireless effort to "show" that capitalism is a failed system. Just think about what liberals have done to fuel costs alone, with their green bullshit. It increases the cost of everything we buy. How about what their trial lawyer buddies have done to increase costs for every business in the country? How about healthcare?
A lot of it is just the demand side of the equation as well. Bakelite mags are not even close to rare, but people love them, so the price goes up. It isn't gouging. Wanna "fight the system", get yourself several thousand mags and sell them for less than the market rate. Congrats, 15 minutes later the market will spring right back to where it was, and a lot of the mags you dumped will get flipped. It's not greed, it's just math and economics. Don't like it, don't buy whatever it is you think is overpriced. Problem solved.
People that complain about this never seem to remember that these things shift in their favor just as often. In the 90s a good AR was $1k. Now you can get a perfectly functional one for half that. Who wants to line up to bitch about that?
Quality stuff is worth the price of admission. Always will be.
