Gonna be interesting to see what's in the final warehouse. BTW, is there an english translation for the AMD65 poster? I dig that they are in Hungarian, but it'd also be cool to know how the nomenclature was described over there. I have a new in wrapped cleaning kit and I'm not even sure what some of these parts are...or what goes in the 2 little oil bottles. There's a red and a white...and it's a mystery (to me) how they were used by the Hungarian mil.
I will ask them to make it but Google translate has been good so far as I added and corrected a lot of it..
For instance...the word for muzzle brake and flash hider has been correctly translated.

Oh, I don't want a poster in English, way cooler in Hungarian. If Google translate actually works for this kinda thing, I'm good.

As I understand it, the Charles Daly guns were assembled by a subcontractor and sold by Charles Daly as "made in America."

Two companies were used to assemble. The first was Dan Wesson. They did 500 or so pistols but production costs were too high. The rest of the guns were finished by Magnum Research. These were also ultimately too expensive.

Now I think the market has changed. Now that FN has discontinued the Hi Power that leaves only surplus used imports or new production guns from Turkey. I think a new FEG (either 100% offshore production or fit and finished here) will sell well as long as the price stays reasonable.

I don't know what the market will tolerate but I think 600ish should be okay as long as these are true Hi Power with the proper slide stop.

    1971 model he says.

Is that when FEG got into the Hi Power business?

Not much seems to be known about these guns. At least not here in the States. There seems to have been a number of versions imported under the Kassnar brand.

We have the early imports with a vent rib slide and a flare at the bottom front of the grip. These also had a 1911 pattern slide stop. Mid 1980s imports from what I've seen.

Later were the BHP clones with wood grips, small sights and a correct slide stop. There was also a later gun with 3-dot (although still small) sights. Early 90s for the most part.

Later still was a model with plastic grips. There seems to be a variety of these. Some had small FN style safety and BHP slide stop. Some had an extended safety and BHP slide stop while others had a 1911 slide stop. Late 90s and early 2000s.

Last imports were similar in outside appearances but with a barrel and locking system based off the S&W M39/59. Probably functional guns but not what we want as Hi Power enthusiasts. Early 2000s although earlier examples exist.

There were also a series of 9mm and 45 pistols that were DA/SA trigger format. These were sort of a S&W copy with Hi Power styling cues. These were late 80s and early 90s.

The above are just my observations over the years.

My hope is we're going to see the early pattern with wood grips and the correct slide stop. There's also a Rowland Special in the works with a rail on the dust cover and an RMR cut slide. Cool!

Early pattern ..bonafide hipower but I have several of the SW versions of the Hipower P9 and all hi power parts drop in on mines including Barsto threaded suppressor barrels.

Lined up trying to explain to the Engineers the original hi power.

The long slide completion is what I want made.

With a rail., beaver tail, and flared out magazine insertion with a threaded barrel RMR.

We made a SGS style compensator...I have to share that picture..

Would be an easy seller..a drop in kit for the hi power to add a compensator setup a la Leon the Professional style.

A long slide/competition model with modern features would likely sell well although maybe only to a smaller market segment. I'd buy one.

But I'd guess the masses would prefer something like this pistol. Classic Hi Power styling so it has the "look." Also no issues finding holsters. And places like Clyinder and Slide, Chestnut Mountain Sports and The Action Works can customize with new sights etc for a solid carry gun.

I'd buy one of these too.

The classic is easy to do as we have a shit ton of die forged slides and lowers from a previous run before we went kaput.

If anyone is a die hard Hi power collector, afficiciando, or RKI on the hipower..let me know or get in touch with me on PM..

I think that a current realistic market price for HiPowers is $500, $300 if they have those horrible Charles Daley type billboards on the slide.
