Pretty sure Childers 80s are heat treated and rails installed.

    Extractor usually needs trimmed.

how would the svd be imported? as a 7.62.54r pistol? or as a neutered saiga? or?

im thinking saiga would be the best route, it will be relatively easy for people to make certain smaller replacement parts, but the barrel is the heart of the weapon. not to mention a 7.62x54r pistol is ridiculous.

    No issues if bringing SVD.

    Problem is country of origin.

These rifles are Hungarianized..and nothing is Russkie other than maybe the slings.

so the rifle will be able to be retrofitted to look just like this?

would the rifles be retrofitted by a company in the US or would it be a situation where you just import the saigas and then expect aftermarket companies to make the necessary parts? me personally im fine either way but a dedicated company doing everything so the rifle is complete turn key is much better.

I have to shut up after this..

FEG bosses want me to shut up now.

I can't shut up sometimes because I want to share.

Rifles should come in as they are minus FH BL and welded up threads.

    Phase 1

    Phase 2

Receivers will be made and cloned in states.

Parts come in and built in states.

All parts are made by FEG

    That's the plan.

    SVD magazines made by FEG.

Hopefully I'll be able to afford this stuff when it comes in. I'm tired of missing boats.

Dunno., but markings should have no bearing on import.

This shot of "NOS" receivers from "Works11" in Poland shows what I am talking about-

    Attachment 260007

You also want to avoid the mistakes of those that have failed; Pissing off the ATF import branch to the point that they find a reason to disapprove everything.
That is true about "pissing off".

I was referring to "regulatory" restrictions on selector receiver markings. I have never seen or read any.

But as you note., could be a "don't go there" using full auto, country of origin markings I suppose?

As enthusiasts we can get a bit over zealous and want something so bad we push the powers that be in those countries.
So much to the point they drop the whole idea and tell us to FO.
I'm interested and will just leave it at that.

    We are here...
    We are not going away...
It's just in the mad rush and back office deals...people here at FEG got greedy and stupid and the previous socialist government before the current one didn't make matters any better also being the bastard wanted to turn Hungary into some pacifist hippie commune. No guns etc
Makes me cry as precious machines just disappeared out of thin air.

It's kinda biblical in that analogy of the servants who invested the kings money.

One doubled it..one tripled it and one hid it.

My whole point is that....virtually no one here was thinking of the future. Just today...

I'm here thinking of tomorrow and 50 years from now.

We have a crap ton of ideas.....and prototypes.

Really innovative stuff and I am proud to be here.

    Ok...

    Pictures soon..

    Svd has polymer furniture...

Problem is that it is not EU civilian approved.

So we are putting the old wood furniture on it.

Later we can ship the polymer stuff.

But its weird..wood makes it civilian according to EU rules.
