Rumor has it: a limited run of stamped downfolders!

I talked with my favorite FFL just now. He just returned from the Shot Show with an order for several of a limited run of stamped downfolders--that's right--downfolders from Arsenal.

I asked him several times: "Now, this IS Arsenal of Las Vegas and not Armory USA in Texas, right?"

He confirmed that Lew Hortons had either received, or was about to receive, a small shipment of stamped downfolders from Arsenal of Las Vegas.

I don't plan to call Lew Hortons to confirm this. Last time I attempted such a thing I kind of got the runaround since I'm a mere mortal and not an FFL holder.

But I'd be curious to know if someone could do some "G-2" work and confirm this...

Normally, I'm skeptical about gun dealer BS just like I am internet BS, but this comes from an FFL who I educated about the different AK's. I'm ASSUMING he knows enough not to be in error and I don't believe the guy is dishonest.

At MOST, he could be mistaken and they're Arsenal USA or something.

His exact way of describing these, to the best of my recall, is that they are a "small batch of downfolding stock, stamped AK's that are part of an unannounced production run."

Remember the last batch of Classics and RPK's was unannounced, too. So were the 107UR's with the fake flash hider sold only through RSR. So it's not unprecedented for Arsenal to really, really make a batch of unadvertised rifles, either.

    longhunter--this is a downfolder:

If someone would have posted that in the build forum as his battlefield pick up he would have been hanged as over doing it. That is a great pic. What is the difference between it and a underfolder?

All that is well and good, but Arsenal USA ( Houston ) is no longer in the AK business.

If true, I'm screwed. I just ordered a SLR-107CR which will be here Tuesday and put a SLR-106F w/metal stock on layaway. I've been trying to figure out a way to scam a 107FR on top of it. Now this.

About the only thing I think I can do to find my way out of this quagmire is to tell my wife, "Sorry honey, I don't know what happened, but we didn't get a tax return or rebate this year."
