The proper length barrel is flush with the FSB. Your better option would be to buy the newer version, which fixes that problem.
Otherwise, the SAM7K is a semi auto only version of the M4SF minus the side folder.
Hey gang. I'm not a purist and don't need a perfect clone...but I'd like a SBR similar in appearance/function to a AR-M4SF with factory light. Would this be as simple as:
1. Having the bbl cut to proper length / threaded to 1/2x28 (I hear there isn't enough meat on the bbl itself for 14mm)
2. Installing an AK Builder 1/2x28 clone of the commie 4 piece flash hider
3. Installing an cnc warrior folding mech and either the CNC warrior or ACE tubular stock
I really don't care if the proper flash hider mount is via the FSB or not...so long as it's functional and similar in appearance it's good enough for me. Any downside with such a build plan?
Can you get the newer version with the factory light? Did they change the stock mounting set up at all, for better or worse? I know the new one is more expensive, just not sure it's worth it. I can cut/thread for under $100.
Pretty sure you can get the 7K with the light installed, but so long as they sell it separately it doesn't really matter I suppose. They seem to have changed the brace/stock mounting set up though. The original 7K had some aftermarket stock adapters, not sure about the new one...
Yeah, the light by itself costs $300+, and I don't even see them separately on the kvar site anymore. The old version with light is under $1k, so it's back on the table. A FSB swap would be cheaper.
