Exposed firing pin retainer in ejector channel WASR

New 2019 WASR. I can see the firing pin retaining pin in the ejection channel.

Google fu was low results showing an 11 year old thread on ARFcom and nothing was definitive.

Is this a “rifle is fine” moment or is there real concern.

Rifle shoots great and groups better than expected. So rather not send it back if I don’t need to and I’d rather fix it myself if possible and learn something new.

As long as it holds the FP in as it should, that is not a problem.

I've seen it before, several times.

    Welcome to the group!

Agreeing with RichardW., as long as the retaining pin remains in place I would not worry about it. That seems to be one more item of AK tolerance being so wide you can drive a truck through it, but also with wide tolerances comes amazing reliability.

It should be fine. That retaining pin just needs to hold the firing pin inside so as long as it keeps doing that its all ok.

Only concern might be its easier for lube to get into that channel and maybe make that pin accidentally come out. So just keep an eye on it.

Thanks! I am still new to the platform, so trying to learn as much as I can!

Thank you, I will keep an eye on it, so far just about 700 rounds it hasn't moved... yet.
