    saiga 7.62x39 conversion wont feed

I'm doing a Saiga stock and grip conversion with a bullet guide and the bolt locks up good and cycles and all mags fit but it wont feed cartridges. It picks up the round from the mag but the bolt wont close and you have to tap it open Any idea's? I should have tried to run some rounds through it before I started but I didn't. I bought it used. Thanks for any help

if you manually put a round and the chamber (mag removed) and pull charging handle back and let go, will action lock, extractor snaps over the rim?
is rifle all original? i.e. nobody replaced a barrel on it?

With the mag removed it will close on a cartridge but the bolt hangs up a bit when you extract it again then it ejects fine. I'm sure it the original barrel. I think the extractor is having a hard time snapping over the rim. when I tried to see if it would feed from a magazine the bolt wouldn't close most of the time and then I had to bang on the charging handle with a mallet. thanks for your help.

Got it. The screw head on the bullet guide was sticking up enough to catch the bolt and tie it up. Ground down the screw head and it runs like a champ. Thanks for the help.
