    Bulgarian steel reinforced mags

I don't think I have seen these particular mags before. Other Bulgarian non reinforced have surfaced before as well as some waffle variations.

    No personal experience.

I believe these are the same mags that Midway has stating they are "Bulgarian Military Surplus"...

The description of the mags from GunMag warehouse states steel locking lugs and feedlips.
The reviews on the Midway mag specifically note polymer locking front and rear lugs.
I am familiar with that style.

The Mag warehouse are described differently unless that is inaccurate.

I just now had to read the actual reviews to see that the Midways are not exactly what the description says they are...

ETA: But they look really similar in those very bad pictures.

It's quite expensive, same material, same standard same design is available here in Peshawar Pakistan round about 6$. I don't know why you people are wasting your money on only commercials?? They just commercialized it nothing. Are they offering 45 round may in it???

For those who like the polymer magazines it’s this option or paying the extortion prices of k-var. Those being 45-55 dollars per magazine depending on how rare they feel like they should be that day.

AFAIK the Mag Warehouse offering is a relatively new alternative.
The other Bulgarian mags like the Midway and tbe so called " bullet mags" have been around for years. With the polymer locking lugs etc. vs steel.

I think I'll grab a few. I have enough steel mags and have been looking for an alternative to circle 10's. At $15 I can torture test one of 'em.

Too bad bakelites aren't around like they used to be. I'll still shoot with mine occasionally, but I don't use them for "hard use" mags anymore...

EDIT- Just ordered 4. Will report back when they arrive. I plan on drop testing the hell out of one.

Update- Took a magnet to them and they do in fact have steel feed lips and front & rear lugs.
Mags arrived today, lock up great and hand cycled fine.
Dropped one from waist height 10 times onto concrete and it held up fine, also didn't eject rounds when dropped.
Dropped from chest height onto concrete 10 times and, again, held up.
Each set of drops was 2 on the feedlips, 2 on the floorplate, 2 on the spine, 2 on the front portion with the forward locking lug, and 2 "flip drops" that fell randomly. Mag was fully loaded for the drops.

Only damage is the rear end of one of the feedlips is a little chewed up, and the base plate is slightly bent.
    Pics of the aftermath.

    Pics continued.
All in all, very impressed with these mags. Was honestly expecting it to crack. Still looks relatively new! Almost ready to call them circle 10 substitutes.

Thanks to Blue for the link! Probably wouldn't have found these if he hadn't.

    Thrasher,
Glad you followed up and ordered the mags and inspected and gave them some durability exercises.
They looked good in the description vs the earlier., similar but polymer only locking lug type etc.

I'm pretty flush on AKM mags but might get a few for variety.

I grabbed 5 for the hell of it. Next time I feel like playing with 7.62 I’ll give them some use.
