40 round bakelite mag with a Molot body stamp. WOW! I wish I had that mag. All my 40 round bakelites don't have the Molot body stamp.

How did you get that one? There must be a story.

Jetdriver...it's a very sad story...I have alot of unmerciful acquaintances that enjoy exploiting my addiction problem ...

I'll probably continue with 7.62 stuff in a few days...and thank you all for your very kind comments.

Damn, nice. What's the deal with that brass lug on the Paki mag?
    Brass lug? Really?

I always wondered why the Bulgarians didn't make clear waffles with the steel in them? Why is this???

Razorhunter...the Paki's will use/substitute whatever resources they have available when they build something...you'll find alot of variations (not all) of their mags have the brass lugs...the Bulgy clears were just experimental and all the details as to why they even exist have never been made public...the clear ones are real crackomatics...I've clipped off the spring in mine by about 33% to help ease the tension on the mag body...

Could you possibly take some photos of the difference between the steel Tula mags. I have one and am not sure what I have.

On the inside curve follow the profile down to where it drops off, the 4th variation is a smooth transition, the 3rd and earlier are sharp. Not sure if there are other differences.

    Re: My collection (so far)...

    Just got off work...

wingnut...the early Tula's (and Izzy's) have the back side rib/channel that goes up under the side plate...with the late models, it kicks out at 90* to the back of the mag just before it gets to the side plate...I'll try to post a pic tomorrow...

good info on early/late Russian akm mags ... viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15680&p=147711&hilit=Russian+a km#p147711

elliot...mcnee 229 has it...I've also noticed that these #4 models have arsenal numbers with cyrallic figures with them...I don't know if this is special to only them or not...

You do know those 1 ribs are not Serbian? I'm pretty sure the Double rib is also Bosnian, but I can't find enough information to say for certain.
