The "official" pumpkin ammo test! Now with movies!

Pretty little maids... all in a row.

The long awaited ammo test is finished! Mco119 (Jeff) and myself aquired some pumpkins the day after Halloween and tested different types of ammo for everyone to see. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS NOT SCIENTIFIC AT ALL. IT WAS MERELY DONE FOR FUN.

    The weapons:

    Phils
SER, AKS-74, SIG 228, Kahr PM9 (not used)

    Jeffs
DSA FAL, SLR-105A1R (not used), CMMG Midlength AR, SIG 229 .40

    Pistol calibers

Using Phil's SIG 228 9mm, we fired one shot in each pumpkin from appr. 21 feet. We used 3 kinds of ammo. WWB ball ammo, Hornady TAP 147gr HP, and SPEER Gold Dot +p HP.

    WWB Ball ammo:

    Hornday TAP:

    SPEER Gold dot:

For .40 cal, we used Jeff's SIG 229. WWB Ball ammo, and Winchester Supreme HPs.

    Winchester WB ball ammo:

    Wnchester Supreme:

The clear winners were the Supreme and the Hornady TAP.

On to the fun part - rifles!

    Rifles

First, the AKM 7.62x39. We shot 3 different brands of ammo. WMC FMJ, Wolf laquer coated HP, and Chinese Norinco FMJ.

The chinese stuff went straight through:

    The Wolf HPs:

    And the WMC:

We only had one brand of 5.56 which sucks, but here is the Golden Bear 5.56:

This was our favorite part! The 5.45 test! A comparison of WMC 5.45, and 7N6.

    WMC punched straight through:

    But the 7N6?

We shot one more 7N6 round through another pumpkin (it had been shot already, the small hole on the lower left hand side of the pic)

    The two together:

More pics to come of the aftermath

Was a lot of fun Phil. You've got to get the video up and running.

I uploaded some videos onto Youtube.com!

Here's a link for the first video - my camera ran out of memory space only one mag into the shoot.

For now, I uploaded it onto photobucket:

Part 2, 3, and 4 is this past weekend when we picked 10 more pumpkins and just destroyed them in the dark. First mags were from the Midlength and the AKM:

    alternate is on youtube:

This is part 3, Phil with the AKS-74 and Jeff with the SLR-105:

And part 4 is the best by far! FAL and the AKM again:

The youtube links aren't all working properly, but should be when they approve them.

    More pics to come!

Some more pics from the aftermath. As I said before, the memory card in my camera ran out during the day shoot, but here is what it looked like after a few hundred rounds:

I didnt see any "weapons", but there were a few nice firearms
You could definently tell when the 7N6 was live
    Rivet it and forget it
