Neither of my EG barrels have feed ramps, but the topic of feed ramps in Romanian and Polish mil-spec barrels is not a new one.
We've got a hell of a lot more in common with the fellow citizens we're being trained to hate than the puppetmasters training us to hate them.

Mine arrived and look fine. I can see small machining differences, and there is no stamped batch number, but they are very consistent with the traditional Romy milspec barrels. Other than that, they are good to go, and do not require the additional (and somewhat costly) barrel threading and profiling modifications as the new FB Polish barrels do.

    Can anyone confirm if:
    - East German AKM barrels have feed ramps?
    - Tula AKM barrels ?
    - when did if ever feed Ramps start showing up on guns, years, makes etc?
For Romanian barrels the chamber feed ramps appeared sometime after 1991.

My 1991 SV prefix Md90 still has a barrel stub in the trunnion - no ramp.

My 1994 TG prefix Md90 still has a barrel stub in the trunnion - has the ramp.

My 1986 36 batch code MPiKMS-72 trunnion still has a barrel stub in it -has the ramp. Not sure when they started.
Constantly studying spots welds, mag well dimple shapes, center support rivet heads and selector markings for the last 12 years...

BTW - Keep your BFH away from my AK!

You may have pinned down when the East Germans started. My original '85 front end has no barrel feed ramp and apparently your '86 does.

I call it my miracle trunnion. I ordered a Coles Romanian kit and received that trunnion mixed in. It also has the later flat stamped gas tube lever used on most MPiKM-74N rifles.

Later I bought a kit built rifle from someone here because it had the matching EG bolt and carrier to my 86 EG trunnion.

    Here's pics of it.

So those of you that have received your barrels: Do they have the tooling marks that older combloc barrels had? The new Polish barrels look almost too perfect (smooth surfaces).

this is a good question, that smoothness bothers me as well (funny thing to say that you're upset the product is too well made)

would be nice to have a barrel that replicates that coarse outer look you see, but still has the nice bright chrome, which is what we see on like plo kit barrels and such.

has anyone posted close pics of their barrels?

Yeah I asked Tim at Two Rivers if he could turn some marks in the Polish ones, but it was a no go.

I guess I will get another. Here is what I am doing.

Polish for polish, but turned to Russian spec since this is how they were
Polish for EG, turned to EG spec
Old Romy for early Romy and Russian builds
New Romy for I guess some... I havenít figured that out.
