Now that's how you do a first post! And a first build!!

    Looks fantastic. Two questions:

    1) What did you use to do the spot welds. Whatever welder that is, I want one.
    2) Same question for the selector notches. What cutter did you use?

thanks and welcome to the crew!

Thanks! The spot welds are fake, I used an endmill to counter sink the weld spots, then used a HF spot welder, and used a basic grind wheel from a dremel set to do the selector notches. I had a good teacher as well, my cousin Cameron87 helped me get this receiver to turn out as good as it did.

Wow that's amazing-I would never guess it was your first build!

Nice attention to details on the receiver, safety selector shaft dimple on left side, the rate reducer dimple on the bottom and the selector notches. Thanks for posting the pictures Very nice build.

You shouldn't post a first build like that here. It's very discouraging for guys like me who have built several AK's, but still don't have the skill set to even dream about building their own receiver. I wish that I could be infused with such knowledge.

I apologize if my post upset you, I am not trying to discourage anyone. I've been been working hard on this build for awhile now. Like I said I've been under the guidance of Cameron87 who has an FFL and does this for a living, without his help i couldn't possible have gotten this to look as nice as it does.
