Didn't say the claim was true. I'm just saying I saw it on a Chinese blog a while back and that's what the guy claimed. He also claimed he took a few pictures and let it be.

 

well i want ?o make one if at all possible....so if anyone runs across more photos that they want to share...i would appreciate it.

it dosnt have to be chinese or for underfolders...any type of akm crate would be neat to copy.

Does the crate have to be 100% authentic? This seems to resemble a Mosin crate in every way except for size and hinged lid.

 

Well it dosnt have to 100% authentic but I sure would prefer it to be if at all possible. I sort of have that bug about me.........I have to make everything as close as possible.

I have a couple more photos that I have found......I will try and post them here to share. I only posted the best two that I have.

Yeah, that looks like a repurposed Mosin crate.

 

Does anyone have any other detailed photos, schematics, or even measurements on any crates/transit boxes for any type or make of AKM or AKMS? I would like to make a couple just for fun.

Funny - I had never thought about making a shipping crate for an AKM until today. And the reason is because I saw this:

Now that is the shiznik! If we had some really good reference photos for a single AK shipping crate, I'd love to build one just for the cool factor. That prototype AR-15 with the reproduction crate and materials/shipping tags is crazy cool.

That is a very neat project. Now I want someone to make one of those to go with their gas trap Garand. That would be amazing.
