Agreed, awesome collection. Everyone's rifles, look great. I like those digicam Galils!

Been in a pic taking mood this morning, so here's some of SER II #55

Edit: No longer the owner of #55. It went to a new owner in Texas.

Nice pics. the charging handle on the Gail wouldin't be as easy to work as a regular AKs. Do the gails have tighter tolerances then the AK?

    My latest clone project

Wasn't quite sure in which area to post this. It is a "build" project, but it is definitely a clone attempt.

Let's see if I uploaded the pictures correctly.

Finally: An M-76 "Valmet" that I can afford to buy magazines for!

    M-76 clone

Started out life as a Norinco Hunter.

Acquired stub end of a Galil from Ontgun (in Canada) & paid local smith, who is also good at welding, to square up the end of the Hunter receiver and the end of the Galil stub, weld 'em up and smooth out the transition.

I then had a barrelled receiver with the same profile as a Galil or a milled receiver Valmet. The Gunsmith closed up the hole where the original Hunter trigger came out and created one where an ordinary AK trigger ought to go and milled out a hole for the pistol grip nut to go through. He also installed the mag-catch/release housing, once I'd removed the original one that was on the Hunter.

I added a Galil gas block & fsg, gas tube, gas piston & mag-catch release housing that I had from a kit I'd purchased a while back. I had the smith install the rear Valmet HG holder and a front HG holder for an AR-15 that I'd notched out, along with a little "washer" that he turned and put in place with a set screw--to hold the handguards tightly between the rear and front brackets--prior to putting the gas block on. Once the gas block was installed (in the same place that the original Hunter block had been--the Valmet flash hider was added.

Please send PM or e-mail for location of importer from whom I purchased M-76 handguards, rear mountng bracket, pistol grip & nut, receiver cover, and flash hider. He may or may not still have these parts. I have a set of the hand-guards for sale, if you're interested.

I made the trigger guard myself out of sheet metal and the stock came from Jeff's Outfitters.

Guts are all still Norinco Hunter.

Oh yeah, the magazine is a plain old Chinese mag that I had the smith weld a little lanyard ring onto.

Best regards and thank you for asking,

    E.

    Accessorizing

Hey, ya gotta love a man in uniform! I think a nice Galil, wearing a 50-rd magazine, just makes an ordinary mercenary look so sharp, somehow!
