    New AK owner

Hello all. Iím a long time gun collector, but had never owned an AK until last night. The mood just struck me right that I wanted one. That being said, I know practically nothing about them. I bought 2. The first is a Maadi with a thumb hole stock and was imported by ACC Knoxville. The second which I have read is more desirable is a Polytech with a side folding stock and was imported by KFS Atlanta. Any info you all can give me about them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Welcome to the group!

The Poly Tech side folder as your first (or one of your first) AK variants is a great choice. One of the more rare of the Poly Techs having a Galil style folding stock, a very desirable rifle for collectors.

As to the Maadi, judging by the Bush-hole stock that looks very Norinco, it looks to be a MISR-90 which if it is puts it on the opposite end of collectible from the Poly. I'll reserve judgement until knowing more.
