Brand new to the AK scene

I've been an avid AR builder for a few years but decided to take a dip in to the AK world with a SAM7R purchase from Atlantic Firearms. Look forward to destroying the remaining credit I have. Good to be here! Hi!

Welcome to the AK-addiction! SA M7R is a great choice for a first AK... or second AK... or third...

Welcome aboard! You're not alone on your path to AK fandom. Many of us are AR fans, but at some point we weren't as enthralled with new builds as we used to be. AKs are a cool family of guns and there's plenty of variation to keep things interesting. Sounds weird but in a way, the infinite number of AR configurations somehow makes them less interesting. I mean, I like ARs a lot, but most of the times I see an AR build thread, I don't even check it out. Just not as interesting as it once was.
