    PSA Ak's

Just doing a little fishing for information about these. I did try the search function and nothing specific came up in a thread title. Soooooo, any own one? I would like to know the reliability of this manufacturer and its version of the AK. I have read enough stories about domestic AK's and its pretty much all bad. Is PSA in this group? Thanks!

RobSki did a video on the GF3 in May but do not recall the final outcome.
I think they are working the bugs out but not sure.

I believe the PSA AK completes his (Robski) 5000 round test. From what I’ve read the earlier gens had some issues but I have read and heard good things about the newer ones. There are gun snobs in all genres and PSA catches a lot of flack. But in my opinion they make pretty good stuff.

If you're worried about reliability, I'd stick with a proper build surplus or foreign made legit real AK factory import.

But I have to agree with wingnut as well. You can find a nice Mak 90 or Mil surplus in pawnshops and such for the same price. And you know know it will last.

I have no experience with them but did you look into the Atlantic Firearms offerings?

I've done a lot of them in the past. Just kicking around the idea of buying something different in the AK world.

Never owned one but heard that PSA are probably one of the better US made AKS, but personally. I wouldn’t bother with one; their still new and unproven compared old and proven MAKs or PAPs for example.

The GF3 is the first US made AK that I even considered, I finally decided to go with the GF3 "MOEKOV" in Plum. I figured why wait, it was on sale so I made it happen. PSA got it out pretty quick. It arrived double boxed and with all the goodies, booklet, sticker, lock, flag in chamber and a pmag. Tied to the trigger guard in a small zip lock bag was a little card signed by the final inspector, note inside "Kaboom"
OK, The first trip to the local range was without failure, I brought the GF3 and my WASR Underfolder, all went well. A few of the things I noticed.
GOOD- the GF3 is straight and with a light oiling everything moves smoothly, fit and finish is nice and furniture fit is good. The stock folds and locks well but adjusting length is a PIA. The gun ran well first time out.
POOR- the laser etched (I think) serial numbers suck and look cheap, stamp/engrave or don't bother. Spot welds on a stamped AK receiver are a thing of beauty, the person preparing for paint must have been in autobody! I can't see you!! The selector notches are stamped and give a cheap look.

So all of this is just me sitting at my bench with my GF3 in hand looking over things and most of it doesn't even matter at this price point, or does it? With talk of a upgrade to a FN barrel in the future I'm sure $$$ will go up, fix the small stuff and it could be good choice !

PSAs offering is good to go now.
Early ones had some issues but they quickly fixed them.

    PSA makes AKs?
I don't "run" my guns or "run" anything on them. Likewise, none of my guns are "platforms".

If you want a 100% US made AK, PSA is the way to go.
