    2016 C39V2 with proprietary rail

It seems that the latest C39V2 batch has a side rail, but a proprietary one (link below). I can't find any information about it-- does anyone have pictures or information on who makes the rail and where it can be bought-- anything?

    Century Arms
"1st AK side scope rail mount to offer a return to zero capability, also offers four times clamping improvement over traditional side scope rail mounts and improves sight acquisition for follow-up shots"

The proprietary rail that you are asking about is a new creation by Century Arms that they are supposed to be installing on their entire line of 2016 rifles. You can see pictures of it in the Century Arms 2016 Product Catalog.

Thanks RB, Of course I should have checked the catalog but I've gotten so used to having everything served up on the web I didn't think to look for anything buried in a PDF. Emailed Century support and the response I got back said they are the only supplier of a compatible side mount for their proprietary rail: Product ID SC1327-- Century Arms

The C39v2 I purchase 2 months ago did not come with one. I wish I has waited for one that came with the optics mount.

You're better off adding one yourself I used a Midwest Industries rail and mount along with Leupold rings and a Bushnell AK scope makes a nice setup.

It's really a nice scope BDC for the 7.62x39 cartridge built in and all - I'm no expert marksman but I can keep a decent group at 100 meters with it using cheap bulk ammo.

What distance did you use to zero it in?

I shot it in at approx. 25 yards here at my house then when I had time to take it to the range I dialed it in on the 100 meter range. I was using Wolf and Tula FMJ and HP cheap ammo. This barrel seems to shoot the hollow points the same as the full metal jackets. I'm glad it's not picky on ammo because I have a crapload of each.

Can someone explain to me what mounts can be used on this proprietary rail? Is it ONLY the one that Century makes? I'm wanting to use it to mount a scope, not a mini-red dot, but the mount that Century sells only supports a couple models of red dot and they don't have an option for a normal picatinny rail. Am I just screwed and have to go with a red dot or is there some way to mount a picatinny rail mount to their proprietary side rail? I guess I didn't do enough research and didn't realize the new C39v2s were coming with this thing.
