    alternatives to standard pistol shooting?

When I run out of 9mm Luger. What then? .22 is getting harder to come by. Always thought I could get my hands on .22,

Someone mentioned in another post black powder, what about those kits from dixiegunworks? What about cap and ball pistol kits. I know nothing about cap and ball.

What about a pellet guns? Could I set that up in my apartment?, I live in an urban setting.

I have has an older style Benjamin single shot pump pistol for 10yrs...
RWS (German) .22 pellets. I use it in the back yard , inthe basement and camping. Don't give it a second thought.

Note: My pump 22 rifle w/ RWS shorts is less noisy though...

turning cover into concealment since 1930.
No one has ever tried to make a direct impingement AK.

I don't know about an alternative, but last night I took out a bird inside my house with a $10 plastic airsoft pistol and plastic pellets. I had to hit it 4 times, but it did the job. I may be looking into a higher end airsoft pistol pretty soon.

What is your 9mm primary? If they make a quality airsoft GBB copy I would get one of those. They can be very realistic and help you practice draw and shoot drills without damaging anything/body.

I can look around if you tell me your primary . . .

7.62 TOK is still cheap and plenty of fun to shoot. i love my TT-33!

I didn't know you could do that. Never tried it. Playing "Operation Wolf" with the gun was too much.

XD - I haven't seen an airsoft copy yet. Was thinking about getting one though.

I use a crossman pellet pistol in my apt. Just put an old pair or jeans over the bottom of a chair and put a target in front. Its nice for my triggerpull and don't use an airsoft one since they wont be nearly as accurate as a pellet pistol.

Ammo I got, but the time and a place to shoot (realistically), I don't. Being city locked an' all.

I'm so desperate for any sort of training/practice for muscle memory and hand to eye co-ord that I have resorted to this:

It's a KWA Full-Metal Gas Blowback M9 airsoft pistol and with the exception of the Orange barrel tip it's almost indistinguishable from the real thing. I handed to my roommate and he almost shit a brick. Same weight, feel and operation. The grips are the only plastic part I can find. Of course, the trigger pull and action is considerably lighter. Cost me $150.
The slide cycles and does it's usual job when you pull the trigger, the mag is a self contained gas and bb (26max) source, it field strips like the real thing and it even has a decocker. As far as I know it's a licensed reproduction designed primarily for training purposes.

The thing will rip holes in tin cans from 15-20 feet. It's so real it has me looking for a real Beretta. (that's why I'm not painting over the barrel tip.)
Amongst other things, while I'm watching TV I will draw down on a series of small ammo boxes 10-15 feet away and play indoor shooting gallery.

Kinda like masturbating, but hey so is masturbation and that never stopped me from masturbating.

There's a dead on full metal airsoft M4 out there that uses gas blowback, too. Same kind of realistic function. Kinda pricey at 6 bills, but who knows, one day maybe. A real one would cost me 1500+ right now and that certainly ain't in the cards.

It's really sad that I've resorted to something like this, but I don't live in a country that fully honors my passion for firearms and need for practice.
I waited so long to get a PMR-30 at just the original list price that I don't even want one anymore.

Makes me think of the 3 brother's that lived down the street when I was growing up.

In the winter they would run around with 2 pairs of jeans on, winter gloves, heavy boots, a thick winter jacket and full face motorcycle helmets - all the while shooting each other with BB rifles.

    Now, that's an alternative!
