    drum loaded myth?

ok,i've always known since i was a kid that keeping loaded mags will effect reliability of the spring was a myth(cleaning and inspecting not withstanding).it's cycles that affect the spring.it came from listening to and reading about old vets from ww2 and the weapons they've kept including german pistols....BUT,what about drums?i've never heard anything about those.i don't see why they should be different.

in particular i'm refering to romanian but if you know about chinese(which work differently)i would appreciate your advice.i'm talking long term storage here, years.

THe Chinese drums are "on demand".

You store them fully loaded with no spring pressure (there is a spring release inside), and wind them when needed.

There is a thread in the "magazines" area where I asked that question a month or two ago. What I was told is that the type of springs used in drums are different and they *do* degrade if left compressed.
