    AK problem, advice wanted

Well i just got a new AK. Fired it on saturday, everything is great except for one problem: Occasionally the trigger wont reset, but the empty ejects and a new round gets loaded in. ive been told its the hammer that needs to be smoothed and rounded out. how exactly is this done?

its also a pain in the ASS to get the receiver cover on and off.

Take top cover off. Remove bolt carrier / bolt. Cock trigger with finger and see what it is dragging on . Pull the trigger but don't let it go flying. Just ride it forward and see what it's snagged on. I had a G2 trigger that I had to dremel alittle meat off where it was dragging on the Reciever through the slot cut where it drops through the bottom of the reciever. If you can't find the problem that way put the carrier and bolt and return spring back in a rack it slowly to see what you can find. Good luck WarDawg

WarDawg gave you very good advice. STOP, make sure the gun is unloaded, then look CAREFULLY at the trigger group as you pull the trigger. Put away the Dremmel until you can SEE what it's dragging on.

Very often, there will be a slight bit of drag on the FRONT or SIDE of a G2 in relation to the receiver. This can be fixed within 3.2 minutes with a light touch of a Dremmel - but you want to FIND it first... not grind on parts at random.

G2 trigger? The G2 trigger I put in my SAR 1 would not reset because the front of the trigger was hitting the receiver at the front of the trigger cutout and the trigger was not getting it's full travel forward. I made sure where the interference was and took a little off the trigger, not the receiver. Works fine now, resets with plenty of engagement (what some wags call creep).

    Bigale,

No worries. The SER is covered with a full one-year warranty for assembly and function.

If there is a problem, and the recommended fix by InRange does not help, it can go back to correct the problem.

InRange stands by everything they build.
