Countering the lies of the lunatic fringe:

I try to give people solid qualified legal advice, but what the Hell do I know? I only went to law school, so if they prefer to listen to someone who claims that his "Second Grade Civics Class" makes him a legal expert and let him induce them into committing state and federal felonies, it's no concern of mine.

I understand your frustration. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink"

All you can really do is make the best case you can and hope they listen. Was this free advice?
"There really is something broken between your ears. You know this, yes?" - Redbear

Closed captioned for the drinking impaired. Wait...

    Yes indeed.

Given on the internet, where the mentally disordered lunatics who can shriek, gibber, and squeal the loudest are believed by the mindless squids.

Unfortunately most don't seem to have a discerning eye when it comes from the internet nor to they make the effort to research deeper/ vet their findings.

There is no longer such things as "Legal" or "Illegal". Our Local, State and Federal Governments have no clue as to the limits of their power, nor can they clearly define an Emergency if someone gives them any debate.
We have a Governor in the United States who is stuffing corona virus infected people in to Elder-Care homes, which allowed the virus to burn through those poor souls living there. Is there a possible way to stop him? Well, his reply was "Old People are going to die."
In these times having a Law Degree and passing the Bar as like being the "One Eyed Man in the Land of the Blind.' Just because you can see things more clearly than those around you doesn't mean they will listen or even help themselves to your free advice.
    Good Luck, God Bless.

There are no experts anymore. People believe what they want to believe and will use the internet to find people that agree with them and that becomes the truth. It is confirmation bias to the Nth degree.

For those who are able to read above a second grade level and want the actual law and not internet bullshit, here is the case on point that is the controlling legal authority (at this point, in all 50 states) on this subject:

    http://euro.ecom.cmu.edu/program/law...ethVPeople.pdf

Note that the court extended jurisdiction from California to Colorado, by way of Florida, Texas, a foreign country, and Mississippi, to arrest the defendant, who was in Nebraska at the time he was taken into custody by the Nebraska authorities who then sent him to California - a place he had never even been before.

And what did the defendant do to make himself a convicted felon? Did he come to California and commit some horrible crime? Rape, arson, murder, robbery, buggery on the high seas?

No, he was a licensed physician in Colorado who wrote a prescription in Colorado (that was sent over the internet through the above named states and a foreign country) for someone in California, where he was not licensed to practice medicine. He was never in California, he personally sent neither the prescription or the medicine to California, and he never had any personal contact with the person.

And people are stupid enough to believe some nameless, faceless, anonymous, assholes on the internet who tell them that if they live in State A, and send something to someone in State B that is illegal in State B, that State B has no jurisdiction over them to issue a felony warrant or that State A will not honor that State B felony warrant to take them into custody and send them to State B in irons?

Something else to consider: It is a federal offense to use the mail or any other means of federally regulated interstate communication - internet, telephone, telegraph, etc. - to commit a crime. So while it is legal to mail an object from a state where it is legal to another state where it is legal, sending it to a state where it is banned is a crime and using the U.S. mail to commit that crime, so should the federal government (in the form of an ambitious and politically motivated Deputy U.S. Attorney in some totalitarian Hell-hole like California, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Hawaii, or New York, for instance) decide to, they could charge all parties involved with a federal offense. And, due to the "Separate Sovereigns" legal doctrine, the Constitutional prohibition against "double jeopardy" would not apply.

For an example of how federal jurisdiction would apply, please read these articles:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Chong

    https://www.jrmartinmedia.com/united...s-b-kin-chong/

Note that in this case the issue was not even one state exercising "extra territorial jurisdiction" over the resident of another state for sending something into that first state that was illegal. Here, the U.S. Attorney for Western Pennsylvania set the whole thing up deliberately, and at a cost of $12 million and use of the resources of 2,000 law enforcement officers, to deliberately entrap Chong. When Chong refused to fall for their scam, they induced someone else in Chong's son's company to send them a bong, and arrested Chong for it anyhow, even though he had absolutely no connection with any aspect of this transaction.

Like the line from the Simon and Garfunkel song goes:

Well, there are a lot of good people there and a lot of good information to be had, as long as you know how to separate what is real and valuable from what is bullshit.....kind of like panning for gold in a sewer.

Like another friend just emailed me:

"Wow, what a total dick move on Nails part. Someone, I think it was Ian Mor (one of the reasonable, intelligent, and sane moderators there), once said "The AK Files is a place where the overly educated debate the semi-retarded". Now you see what the consequences of being on the "overly educated" side of that equation can be."

I can not, in all good conscience, disagree.
