Why so much hate for Ban states

I look through posts here daily and have been a very Long time member. I lost my other log in and can’t access my old email, reason for a newer join date. I have collected, respected and loved the AK weapons system since I came home from Iraq many moons ago. So many of the for sale posts no shipping to ban states, do you actually know like in Maryland it is not illegal to own over 10 round mags just illegal to sell in the state or ship as a complete mag. I have purchased so many mags through people just being willing to remove the floor plate before shipping. I have also purchased many many kits on this sight over the years now. Unfortunately for us in ban states as I am ( Md but live on the eastern shore no where near Baltimore etc ) my grandchildren live here my family and where I have lived most of my life. So sad to see so many even here that seem to shy away from us. Sorry but I needed to post this after looking through the classifieds seeing so many WILL NOT SHIP ANYTHING TO BAN STATES. Another fact is the only AK illegal in Md are rifled ones in 7.62x39 I can go buy a AK pistol in ANY caliber( tell me that makes sense) or any AK platform as long as it’s chambered in anything other than 7.62x39

Sorry. You have to keep your posts to 10 words or less. BAN [email protected]

Just kidding. I think it has more to do with a CYA attitude than it is 'hate' per-se. Laws change all the time, and rather than try to keep up to date on stuff that doesn't apply to non-ban states, it's easier to not sell than to try to jump through hoops or risk catching legal hell. For the longest time, mag kits were okay/grey market to send to Cali, then they stopped allowing that practice.

I mean hell.. even stupid Ohio had stupid laws about stupid magazines being considered machine guns if they held more than 31 rounds.. so no STEN mags, no drums, no Galil mags... fortunately they killed that law but different stupid laws sprang up in their place like a fucking hydra of stupid. No offense but sellers don't want to try to figure out what's allowed where. None of it is written in plain English and each state is different and some counties are different from one another, like Cook county IL, or NYC vs NYS. In this case you gotta figure out two or more sets of laws. And you have to do this AFTER the buyer agrees to purchase it. If you want it, great! Now give me a few to do the research on your county/state! Then I'll let you know if you can have it!

I know I can come on a board like this and ask but how much do you trust the answers? After all, all you know is a screen name. Some say it's the buyer's problem, some say seller's, some say both. Others, and I've had this happen to me on a different board, give illegal advise.

So it's just easier to avoid selling to Ban States

    Sorry

As someone who formerly lived in upstate NY I can relate to this. When I was a teenager I started getting into AK's and getting magazines was a pain in the ass. This was even before the "SAFE" act and "pre-ban" mags were still perfectly legal. Still good luck on getting anyone to ship them to you. What I would often do is have them shipped out of state and just pick them up them from a friend and what I was doing wasn't even illegal. I even had trouble getting an AK parts kit shipped to me one time, the guy said he didnt want the legal trouble...

Not long after that shit passed I headed for the exits and hopped the border to VT but I do find some peace knowing that, while not everyone, at least some significant number of people ignores their stupid fucking laws there and just does what they want. This is America. "Ban states" can pass whatever "laws" they want. Its your duty as a patriot to resist them to the fullest capacity you can, anything less is cowardice. I would ship anything I could get away with.

    OP
Sadly there’s a lot of what I consider brother fuckers in this hobby
    Furthermore they are idiots
State laws only apply to you if you live in that state ... for some reason they think if some store wont ship something to some state then they as a privet party can’t.
But in some cases I think they just hate peoples in ban states .. like we’re somehow responsible for bans and bogus laws.
Its bordering on ridicules ... people saying they won’t ship parts kits to ban states ... I even had a guy last week refuse to send me a bayonet.
These are the same people you’ll see the day before the coming mandatory buyback camped out on the sidewalk to be first in line.

I think there definitely are some people that think it’s the persons fault for living in the state and they are responsible for the state laws.

But in general I don’t think that’s what most people think. My perception of it has always been that sellers don’t want to be liable in any way, and just don’t want to deal with any state that has restrictions. I agree with Arik. It’s just easier.

I can't speak for other states than Commiefornia, but the paperwork that a person has to file to get firearms into that socialist paradise is somewhat convoluted and just generally a pain in the butt. In addition they have their stupid handgun roster and rifle with a detachable magazine has to be in a certain configuration to be legal. Oh, and then there is the myriad of rifles that are banned outright and it all adds up to a hassle that most folks just don't want to deal with. After all, why put up with that crap, when you can sell to someone in a different state for the same money without all the BS?

Sorry if that offends people that live there, but that is the way it is. I sold a C&R Python to a guy that was in the Bay Area and it was a royal pain in the a$$ for me to do as an individual. I had to find a dealer that was set up to ship guns behind enemy lines and use him to ship it.

I wanted to live like a free man and not as a serf of the libtards so I moved from Commiefornia and have never regretted my decision.

I don't care where you are from, or what their laws are, just don't ask me to take part in a felony. If it's sketchy or even in the grey area, if we aren't well known to each other and haven't served together, sorry, can't help you.
BTW, I don't blame you for living there, but since you do, do you understand that by staying there you're second hand support this kind of malarkey with your (More than likely overly high) State taxes?
Oddly enough many people who come here to Texas from New York and California immediately tend to want to change everything here, to make it just like there.
So if there is a bit of trepidation sometimes working with these folks, it seems to be an earned reputation.
    YMMV.

I have zero respect for States like Kalifornia or New York, and will not ship firearms or even most components there as I don't want to run afoul of the ever changing and draconian laws that they use to govern their subjects. The PRK was a red state until about 1992 when they went full retard, and just look at what that state has become now.

I would have thought you were being short sighted, until I just had the worst experience with someone from California buying my item on GB, and then it turning into a whole bunch of problems and bs for me to deal with. The guy was not even upfront with me about anything. Never again!

Joe Mama you don’t remember me but I’ve purchased from you on my other log in and actually from many of the older members here. I’ve stopped even caring so much anymore living 20 minutes to Virginia and 25 to Delaware I can purchase pretty much anything I like. It’s just to principal over the issue, a parts kit is just that not considered a firearm until you add that receiver. I have shipped many firearms to many different states and have a ffl that will accept anything I have sent his way. Along with being friends with the owner of Atlantic Firarms and Matt who I have fixed there forklift for many times now. Just a small portion of my collection that were purchased or traded for right here on the Forum over the years

Being a Army recon Veteran I take so much offense to it very honestly. Want a copy of my collectors license driver’s license my DD214 want me to sign a waiver or worse have it shipped to another out of state address. I used to be able to buy parts here without a second thought and yea what has become of our so called Arms family if we aren’t even willing to be there for each other
