Im a basement dweller im worried about mag rust

Someone in the house is too cheap to run the heat.
(But fuck that bitch cuz I have a decent space heater)
I have a couple steamer chests stuffed with mags wrapped in plastic
I was thinking about dropping a couple of these in the chests to ward off rust

    Would the fumes be prohibitive?

    ...wut.

I checked the MSDS sheet for you and it's basically safe. All 0's except flammability rating of 1

I use the eva dry canisters which I buy on sale on Ebay they soak up moisture then you put them on their own stand dryer When you buy first set it comes with dryer and 2 cartridges I have a couple rooms to protect so I have about a dozen total They do not need much maintenance in the winter but somer you have to keep an eye on them and keep them dry I have 4 dryers I use. I used to use a regular de humidifier but the electricity costs ar4e outrages.

Based on my experience in a very humid environment, doing both of these will solve your problem. I also seal my magazines in zip-loc type bags that are sized specifically for the particular magazine being stored (4"x8", 3"x10", etc.). They can be purchased off ebay. Just be sure to buy the 4mil thickness. I'd also recommend getting a humidity reader that's independent of the dehumidifier. The reader on my dehumidifier broke indicating that humidity was low, so the dehumidifier didn't run. As a result, I got some rust on a few things before I figured it out.

If your that concerned, put the mags in individual plastic zip lock bags with a light coat of oil on them, then store them in an airtight container. Cheap, simple, and very effective.

Move to Arizona, we don't know what rust is.
We've got a hell of a lot more in common with the fellow citizens we're being trained to hate than the puppetmasters training us to hate them.
