    finishing virgin polish laminated set

Bought a AKM set from AoA the other day. pretty sure it comes in the raw.
What would you suggest to use as a finish to match polish original look?
I have used birchwood casey Tru-Oil but it comes out too shiny and lacquer-like, even with steel wool rub down.
Shellac won't be correct for polish furniture as they definitely didn't use shellac on their wood.
my other option to try linseed oil, but i haven't used it before.
any of you guys know the proper finish? i can use a suggestion or two.

I have used teak oil from my local Lowe’s store.
Easy to apply, very durable (it is made to be used on boats).
It comes in a light or dark shade, and is not glossy.

got the set from AoA last night. have to say not satisfied. would have to look for another one. this set is clearly not mil-spec. Handguard swell profile is different - teardrop, neck of the butt is also not like on your typical AKM butt. overall fit and finish while not bad isn't stellar either. there are chip-outs in the flat portions of the laminate in the stock. Buttplate is not fitted all that great. big gap between it and the step up in the stock. Lower hand-guard does not have typical saw-tooth connection between center and side pieces. Should have gone with RTG surplus furniture, which i will now, but it sucks to find out about this this way. AoA should mention that this is not like mil-spec AKM furniture.
