Time to stock up on ammo? Yes/No?

Iv'e been trying to feel for any upword price moves from the usual vendors but have not noticed anything yet. I did see that Targetsports, wich is the vendor I have bought from before is very low on 7.62X39 offerings and almost nothing on 5.45X39. SGAmmo still has a good stock and their prices are staying stable. I'm out of 5.45X39 so I need to buy regardless.

At the last gunshow I was told by an ammo dealer that he had been advised by a supplier that their would not be any more 5.45 comeing into the country. Anybody heard anything about this??

Do you guys think its time to start stocking up and avoid the rush??

Anytime I have extra money, I’m buying ammo, even if I don’t need it... you never know. When I see it on sell, well that’s a good thing.

Absolutely time. In fact, can't think of a better time. Funny how the buying frenzy always hits and THEN people want to buy.

Prices are as low as they've been in 12 years. Once you figure out that you should have bought, prices will be higher. The supply of 7.62x39 and especially 5.45x39 could get jacked up in an instant. Dont' hesitate. Just buy what you can afford. SGAmmo has Golden Tiger and Red Army Standard 59gr FMJ (same thing) for $209.50+shipping per 1,000rd case. That's as cheap as it's been since 7N6 was available and I don't see how it can go lower.

My brain automatically converts the price of anything I'm buying to their value in ammo. I think I have a problem

I just ordered a couple cases on sale at brownells. It is cheapest its been since I've got into aks in 2011. You can make all kind of speculations on the political fall out of recent events but I don't think anything is going to come out of it. I thinks its all dog and pony show but I do think there will be more demand on firearms and ammo as we get closer to the presidential election. And if we are to be cursed with a democrat lord help us - there will be a huge run it again like with obama.

A friend and I served on a church board together. He was the treasurer. We often converted the proposed item to be purchased into the cost of preban Steyr FAL rifles at the time (late 1990's.)

Now is the time to start stockpiling standard capacity magazines. Ammunition will always be available. Given the current environment, magazines may not. Good luck.

Target Sports isn't always the best guage for current ammo buying spikes. They don't and never did have a big selection of 7.62x39 and like almost nothing in 5.45.

If you're shooting you should always be buying instead of waiting till you get down to nothing

Be careful with that company. Do some BBB research.
Big thanks to Moses1986, 10Gauge, Pookie, NFA ARMS, Duck Durbin and everyone that served this country.

Target Sports USA? Really? Been buying from them fairly regularly since 2015. Never heard anything bad and usually in the top two recommended stores for ammo SG being the other one.

My personal experience with BBB is it's a bunch of BS. My company has had complaints due to some ridiculous and impossible demands. Not saying Target Sports is a perfect company but sometimes customer expects the impossible
