SGAmmo still has a good stock and their prices are staying stable. I'm out of 5.45X39 so I need to buy regardless.

At the last gunshow I was told by an ammo dealer that he had been advised by a supplier that their would not be any more 5.45 coming into the country. Anybody heard anything about this??

Do you guys think its time to start stocking up and avoid the rush??

I always hate that a dealer at a Gun Show always says this! Drive me nuts! 5.45 is still coming in. Just have to look for it.

My buddies at SGAmmo have cases of Golden Tiger 5.45X39 available now.

First time I've seen it in years.

It's always a good time to buy ammo.

The 59gr Red Army Standard that's imported by Century looks to be the same thing as the 59gr Golden Tiger.

Haven't read the whole thread and I'm sure this has been said already but the best (ideally only) time to buy ammo is when its cheap. Now's that time, has been for a while, won't ever be much less, undoubtedly will be more.

Thanks for the tip, bought a bunch before, need to top it off again. Not fond of the GT in 7.62, regularly had bad primers, but really like the 5.45. Wish I'd known, would have added it to the Swedish Winchester OTP 5.56 ordered earlier today.

BTW, the Svenski Winchester SGAmmo sells for @ $.29/rd is the best deal on the market for seriously accurate 5.56 ammo.

I've been looking for someone with experience with the Swedish Winchester.

Azak, you say this is GTG?

A 62 grain penetrator round will leave an mark that Bon Ami can't take off.

I can't imagine what a 62 grain OTM would do.

I had a case of the Swedish M855 spec surplus, the "environmentally friendly" stuff that made folks sick indoors. It was definitely hot stuff, though not very consistent. Also berdan primed.

I’m getting great results with my scoped ARs. I haven’t read anything about this specific ammo being environmentally friendly and the OTP design sure isn’t M855 spec, so I don’t think it’s the same as what Walleye’s referring to.

Different ammo. Primer type is irrelevant to me, I don't reload....I don't have the patience. By round 3 I would probably screw something up because my mind went wondering somewhere
