    595BA345-2A48-486D-BD5A-05D0EC8A95CD.jpegPrices seem a little high.
Sorry, picture of ad keeps disappearing. It’s the AK-V and AK-P ad from PSA.

Depends on whether or not they've corrected a lot of their manufacturing problems. They've taken the right step in going for forged parts, but from there... Haven't seen enough.

Hopefully they fixed their problems. I like the way these look.

I could find a better way to spend that much money. The whole LESS GUN=MORE MONEY always bothers me.

It'll start there but within 6-8 months you'll see prices fall. A plinker pistol that wont punish the piggybank.

I hope PSA upped the quality too, but we're also judging something that hasn't come out yet. At least they're not like Century.. 'EAT our crappy shit because you LOVE it CHEAP"

I absolutely didn’t mean run out and buy one but I did think the price was a little comical. I do hope they succeed in what they’re trying to do. Their AR stuff is cheap, shoots well, fits great together (uppers and lowers) and has a lifetime warranty. CS is sometimes disenchanted but that’s everywhere.

People say lots of BS. So far the vast majority of the posts that I have seen bad mouthing PSA have been people saying "I heard...." or "I read...." or "I know a guy who knows a guy..."

I have seen two "first hand" complaints about PSA: One was a defective part that PSA immediately replaced no-questions-asked and the other was a complaint about slow shipping during the christmas holidays a couple years ago.

I am not sayng that PSA is great - all that I personally know is that I bought one AR pistol kit (everything except the stripped lower) from them on sale. Adding the cost of the lower, the price was still at least $100 less than the best online price for a complete AR pistol in similar configuration and more than $200 less than the off-the-shelf price of a comparable AR pistol at any of the local gun shops. It arrived sooner than expected (just one day sooner), everything was as described, everything assembled easily, and it functions flawlessly.

Anyone else might have different experience and I'm always happy to listen to other people's personal experience, but I couldn't care less about second-hand and third-hand comments about what "some people say".

In this particular case, the original ad is no longer available so I can't comment on what was offered or the price asked, but my experience with PSA ads has been that most of their prices are decent and occasionally there are some outstanding prices.

My exact experience as well. My 10.5" pistol runs as good as my Colt or FN 20" uppers. Hell, the accuracy with M193 is better than expected at 2-2.5 inches at 100 yards from the prone.

For AK's, I'm an import snob. Parts kit build is the closest thing to an American AK I'll touch, but that's just me.
I don't judge anyone on their choice of firearms, so long as it works and doesn't die prematurely from cut corners. *cough I.O.*

The problem with their AKs stems from documented instances like this:

    https://www.theakforum.net/forums/14...a-gen-2-a.html

Trunnion go splodey is not exactly a fun thing to have happen. That being said, they've gone away from cast parts and shifted to forged parts, which was half of the problem, but there's still plenty of the older cast models in the wild.

PSA is a budget brand and I'm not going to roll out and call them terrible, but I will say that you get what you pay for. If the forged AKs hold up, that'll be great... But I'll let someone else do the beta testing to find that out for sure.

That is why I said PSA has bad quality. I saw Walleye post that earlier in a different thread. I meant only PSA's AKs had bad quality. I never heard anything about the quality of PSA's ARs.

My stepson bought a new PSA AR 3 years ago. He shoots a ton and says he has 6000+ rounds through it. I’ve been around for a couple of them. I have an upper from them on my truck gun. Yes they are budget but from my experience they are great and really hard to beat for the money. Are they a colt or DD no, but they are great for the money.

It's kind of off topic but I've never had a problem with a PSA AR that I have assembled including two of thier .308 ARs.

When it comes to thier AKs, not really for me. I share Thrasher's and Walleye's opinion. I'd rather build my own anyway.

As far as the ones mentioned by the OP, too pricey. They are neat though and I like seeing PSA bring new AK based products to market. I like the triangle folder looking brace but wish the mech. was more like a real 74 style folder (and interchangeable) for those that want to sbr down the road.

Just my thoughts but I think I'd rather have the KP9. I'm still holding out to see how PSA's Mp-5 turns out. If all else fails after I finish my Cetme builds maybe I'll have enough courage to pick up a over priced Mp-5 kit and build that too.
