How did people forget about the best all metal pistol - the 1911?

I don't even mind alloy frame pistols like Sigs either.

Some CZ goodness for you. Although two are Tupperware, TTL 45 and P10C. TT is made by CZ Strakonice not CZ Uhersky Brod. Tanfoglio/EAA loves copying CZ, 75 as Witness, TT as Witness Polymer.

Never forgotten, perhaps my favorite, though I'm not a collector or big spender on them. I can't compare 1911s to other pistols, their distinctness make them a separate class of weapon in my mind. My modern 1911s mirror yours.

Yes, there are 455 HB options. Looks like CZ has some kind of deal going with Boyd's stocks too.

Yes, you can buy them separate. Threaded barrels too. There was a 455 Varmint with a heavy barrel but was discontinued in 2018. 455 Tacticool suppressor ready with polymer stock discontinued in 2018.

My first handgun - March 1989 I think - is almost all metal. Die Hard was an influence. I should have saved for a Beretta but "I had to get it on."

I gave it to a best friend in 1998 or so. He passed away in 2012. January of this year his widow hit a desperate point and needed to sell it. I bought it from her at market value.

I fired it for the first time since the 1990's the weekend before Memorial weekend. When I owned it before I had never taken any handgun classes. Fast forward to now - I was utterly amazed at how accurate it was now that I know a little more about shooting.

I’ve been pondering to pick one of those up when they come back in. How’s yours been?

    I have two.

The CZ99 in the picture has been almost 100%. The only gripe is under the stress of a timeclock sometimes my grip releases the magazine.

I've posted a thread here on my other CZ99. It was a project when I got it.
