We have a sizable military cemetery here downtown. I've decided I'm going to take a stroll through w/the wife. She's not American(S.African) so it's a good chance for her to what it's all about.

In Oklahoma we're just trying to deal with the statewide flooding everywhere and some tornadoes...
not traveling anywhere except to the BBQ grill in the backyard.

    My memorial day in cliffs

    0630 wakeup
    Drove to the National Cemetery
    Got in my whites
Talked to a 92 year old WWII vet
    Took some pictures with him
Did military honors for a deceased old school sailor
    Got out of my whites
    Drove back home
Slapped some shellac on a buttstock
    Ate some caramel rice cakes
    Been in bed ever since

Exciting day I know but I can't complain. I don't know exactly, but I kinda feel like the "WWII" vet lied to us. He seemed very high functioning with no apparent health problems, but some of the stuff he said just didn't add up. His age is one red flag but people did lie to get in during the war, but he also said he was on the ship the Japanese surrendered on, but the ship he said he was on was decommissioned before WWII and not the USS MISSOURI Oh well... whatever.

Jealous of that pool and the weather its in!

I had a good time. Although i did find it ironic that a state park doesn't allow fireworks or gunshots on memorial day for remembrance. Not like that stopped some people though!

Felt like crap Friday and Friday night. Didn't feel great Saturday, but took the wife and I went and rode the 4 wheeler all day while enjoying some adult beverages. Hung out by the pool with our friends on Sunday. Visited my grandmother and took care of her yard work on Monday. Pretty simple, I guess.
