Which is apparently 5.56. And there’s no need to prove it

My Arsenal SLR-106FR is an AK, in 5.56. Maybe the "guy' meant something like that.

    Yup, this!

Any Vietnam Era vet that repeated this as fact you can take to the bank was never in the field or in country. Would be a 4Chan rumor troll in today's world.

I had some old school SF paper-tabbers tell me many moons ago that 7.62x39 could be used in an M14 but 7.62x51 wouldn’t work in an AK. I’m still callin’ BS.

If I believed the bullshit of every Vietnam era vet I have talked to over the years, 99.9% of them will tell you they are MAC/SOG snake eating killing machine types. Never met a self admitted Vietnam era clerk/typist admin type, cook or motor pool mechanic. I guess they never got paid, ate and their jeeps never broke down over there.

The lines been blurred--usually intentionally by the big mouth guys at the bar--since the Gov created the class of "Vietnam-Era Veteran" for hiring and benefits preferences.

Anyone who served in any branch, wherever they served (or didn't serve) during the years that other guys were actually in Vietnam gets to be in the club. Have never heard a good explanation for why.

I was in Vietnam... in a former life.

Reincarnated from past soldiers I got that PTSD, but I only injected one marijuana. All hail the fish fry!
