    My go to rifle

I always seem to gravitate back to this rifle. Thinking about using it in 3 gun competition. How many of you are using an ak for 3 gun and how is it set up? Here is a little video of my Krebs slr107fr

Hell, we might as well turn this into the "My Go-To Rifle." thread.
    Thread needs pics.

The VEPR and Colt get the most trigger time. These ones just run and run and run....

I like simple and no BS. I have a rail section on mine for a light and maybe an optic but that’s about it for extras. Nice simple, durable and above all else, functional sling.

Nice ACOG. Are they worth the money ? Held off getting one for mine because the Aimpoint has always done what I needed on a carbine. Wouldn’t mind it for a full length 18 or 20 inch barrel.

Very nice Joe. I'm thinking of throwing the KAC RAS from my FN on the Colt and then free floating the FN. At least as much as possible while keeping the front sight post.
I'll probably go with a PRI tube.
At the moment I'm hunting down a reasonably priced used Aimpoint/MRO/ACOG for the Colt. All the auctions go full retard at the end though.

    Hell yes!
We've got a hell of a lot more in common with the fellow citizens we're being trained to hate,
than we do with the puppmasters training us to hate them.

Yes, especially on full length rifles with a 20 inch barrel. The carbine version scope goes out to 600M, the full size to 800M, so keep this in mind when buying one. If your not going to shoot over 400M, an Aimpoint is just fine in my experience. At that distance, the red dot starts to cover the target even at a lower power. The targets in question are E targets and are 19 inches at the shoulder, which coincides with the average width of a human.
If you do get one, be VERY patient when BZOing at 100M, then confirm and adjust at 300M, or 400M if you can. I need to raise mine a touch.

I used an INTRAC SAR2 in three gun for a couple of seasons. The only mods were replacing the FSB to restore the original 74 brake and replacing the crap trigger with a more speed friendly Red Star Arms trigger. I used a Kobra on the side mount.
I shot as fast as the AR guys and regularly beat most of them most of the time. The rifle was light, fast, very competitive, and much to the chagrin of other shooters, the only AK in the matches, meaning the only guy NOT shooting an AR. I took some ribbing but also got respect.
The rifle wasn't nearly as accurate as the ARs but the A zone on a standard IPSC target less than 100 yards away wasn't a challenge.
Most of all I enjoyed being "that guy". Granted, I was already an accomplished shooter and did this just to demonstrate you can't buy ability. But it also showed the AK can be as competitive as an AR in most arenas.

In the area of the stray thread, my go-to is a run of the mill dissy AR with a folding stock, EOTech, and BUIS.

I don't "run" my guns or "run" anything on them. Likewise, none of my guns are "platforms".

A custom build by a buddy of mine. Glass is a EOTECH EXPS3 Holographic Weapon Sight with a G33 3x. Back up sights are the Dueck Defense Rapid Transition Sight – Set. Took it to a rife course not long ago. Like the set up so Ill stick with it.
