Since we're on the subject, anybody in here got any recommendations for a good roomy 15 gun cabinet with shelving for pistols? I'd like to keep it around $300.

The one down the street used to be mine when I had the business until 2010 when I sold it. Don't know why the new owner shitcanned it since they never put in a new machine. Things been sitting outside the back of the building for years. Think I may still have a set of keys for it. Only problem is the bitch is HEAVY and I'm not too keen on trying to get it down my basement stairs. Sure as hell not taking it upstairs. If I can ever put the money together to build a garage out back, I'll be looking at that.
Nice thing about that is you can make some money with it! Dont tell your friends and if their thirsty tell them theres a pop machine downstairs that sometimes works.

    An older, lockable paint cabinet.

I’ll keep my eye out, I run into some really crazy stuff sometimes. I really like the soda machine idea. Hide in plain sight.

Its been a few years, but generally the Military weapon lockers like the original posters have a time standard . It will take a thief X amount of time. They close with padlocks, but the padlocks are arranged so its impossible to get bolt cutters in there to cut them.

They are also chained (that are to hard and thick for bolt cutters) to bolts in the floor/concrete wall, and in an Arms room though.

Yeah, you are going to want to chain any safe down or they will just haul it away and bash it in at their leisure.

I once read about someone modifying old hot water heater for hidden gun storage! With a false hook up, I bet it would work great....

Check with local colleges to see if they have surplus stores. When they update, they sell the old lockers there (at least UofA does) and have other options as well.

One of these would be ideal. Too bad nobody wants to ship 'em.

I run into these all the time, I just don’t have the space for them. Some more expensive, some less, but pretty common. I use FB to keep up with some family and old Marine Corps buddies but the marketplace is actually a useable part. I’ve gotten several good deal there.
