    Michigan City PD Gun Buyback.

"Silence The Violence" drive from this week. Good to know the world is a safer place now that grandma turned in her squirrel gun and grandpa surrendered his single-shot 20 ga. The bottom photo is the final haul. Mostly vintage with some SAT Night Specials thrown in. Correct me if I'm wrong but some of those weapons are worth far more than $50-$100, especially a couple of those shotties.

I wonder how many were stolen by relatives and other familiar people to score a quick $50. And the actual owners have now submitted to a publically-displayed photo-op posted internet-wide announcing them to the world as unarmed residents.

PD is calling it a resounding success. SMDH.

And they'll all be destroyed regardless of value.

I fucking bet MCPD is going to cry poverty in a year or two.

Not a lawyer but I'm fairly sure it's not illegal to set up a stall near the buyback. Illegal weapons and shit weapons go to the PD, nice guns get $75

My agency tried that retardedness. Let’s sing the song fellas, we all know the words ..... F..A..I..L..U..R..E..!!
none of the real firearms they got would even send a round down range. They bought some pellet guns as well if I remember right. $50 dollar gift cards was what they were giving..... I did not participate.

Someone ran an op where they flooded a buyback with shitty pipe guns that probably didn't work. The people running the buyback ran out of gift cards and got shut down in short order.

Get a bunch of your friends together, make up pipe guns, take the gift cards for Walltucky, and buy lots of ammo for a free day on the range.

You got me thinking now. I got a bunch of scrap i bet i could weld up to look like a functional weapon. Some old scrap receivers, pipe used as a barrel, and some surplus trigger parts would probably fool them.

If you took that whole pile into a gun show in a shopping cart some asshole would probably say “ man, I can only go 100 bucks on all of it”.

Have to really consider how these people got to believe that this was a good judgment call.

A friend and me were seriously thinking of starting a 501c3 Charity to do gun buybacks. We were going to offer a free gun, training and a box of ammo to female victims of Domestic abuse that wanted one. Funded by the sale of some of the guns, through an FFL that would do the training and licensing. Write off all of our expenses; vehicles, salaries, ammo...
Most of the time now in Fl, large crowds of gun buyers advertise a free appraisal and to purchase guns for a higher price.

    Still not a bad idea

Definitely a few nice pieces. I see what looks like a 2 FN pistols. A 380 and a 25. The 25 could be a copy but the 380 doesn't look like it. 380 is above the shotgun wrist on the white paper. The 25 is behind the bolt action 22 on the bottom left white paper.

    What looks like a Walther/Bersa 380. S&W 22lr possibly a 422. A friggin Remington 1895 shotgun. A military style holster, so possibly a surplus handgun

    Some nice revolvers
