Does the cover of the for end above the chamber in the uppermost positions?
I have a WASR(1st AK 2004)because over the AWB flopped much to libs
chagrin. In some of the AK's I own, the for end the DC must be hard up or it will pop the
the top. So, solidly raise it to the top and position the spring tab to the DC open cavity and just palm slam it into and up angle with your
open palm. Its a VERY distinct sound. I still hear it better than the lady!Does the cover of the for end above the chamber in the uppermost positions?

Yes, but Crslasher's duct tape suggestion is still valid for when OP comes back here whining about his tRASh-47 falling apart. Wrapping enough duct tape around it to contain the explosion and catch all the fragments might help save his face and/or hands.

Of course if he only puts a 30 round magazine through it once every year or two, he might never have any problems and be very happy with that polished turd .

Just like some guys date models and movie stars, and others settle for a romantic fling with a fat transvestite in the dumpster behind the Motel 6.

Pssh.. Rifle is fine without top cover at all.

Problem fix with hammer, not selling like some corrupt capitalist pigdog!

Ahem...anyway.. hopefully whoever ended up with the screw build has the time and tools to right things with rivets.

Like those Somali rowboat pirates you see with an AK that the top cover rusted off of years ago, hasn't seen a drop of oil or a cleaning rod in 40 years, the stock and grips have rotted away, and the sling looks like it was made out of pubic hair (complete with the lice) - and it still functions without problems

May have to lock this one.
I didn't mean to open a can of worms. I just thought I'd offer the Universal Simple Solution to anyone else who might be crusing the NSA Network, I mean Google, searching the same symptoms. I should have suggested getting the package of electrician tape and doing something multi colour. Then he could have sold it as a Afghan bring back Paki Gun, and got a couple grand out of it.
    Troll out.

That is the best thing about an AK. It still functions after being built by knuckle walking monkeys & being dumped on by half the tribe. LOL
