I HATE Junk mail, and phone calls begging for more money
One of my points exactly! That junk mail costs money, as do the phone calls and the stupid little promotional items they send out to lure people to join. Keep your damn magazine and put that money were it needs to go, and that is fighting the good fight.

That, and being sold out by the hunting crowd. I have nothing against hunters, but those who single non-hunters out makes my blood boil.

    No Kidding!
I re-joined NRA after a ten year absence about two months ago. I just got a letter this week- asking me to renew my membership! Say, think you could let the ink dry before asking me to renew maybe?

I am the NRA and I do vote. I do recoginze too that the NRA is in no way perfect. But, they are not a Fudd only club either. They do affect election results and do help get pro-2nd candidates elected. I am however going to look at GOA & JFPO both as adjunct memberships. In no way though am I going to turn my back on the NRA despite my periodic disagreements with their policies. I do not like their trinkets and have written them directly on that. I do like American Rifleman and worst case, your yearly NRA membership gets you a decent monthly firearms mag.

It's not an issue of junk mail. It takes zero effort to stop by the trashcan on the way back from the mail box. Like others have said, they hit you up for renewal as soon as you sign up and continue to do so frequently throughout your membership. The money to process, print and mail that crap could be spent much better elsewhere. There's a hell of a lot more waste than I'll ever see.

As for them selling us out, I remember years ago them saying they'd rather have any gun rather than no guns and refused to fight the "assault rifle" fight with any vigor. We know the outcome there.

I'm a life member of the NRA. Despite still being pissed about them seemingly selling us out on the full auto stuff back in 1986, I do realize they are still the best brand going. They have the largest pro gun lobbying clout out there and they are a force to be reckoned with.

No, they aren't perfect and I don't agree with everything they do but every gun owner in America should support them. It would also behoove all of us to support Gun Owners of America and Jews for the Preservation of Gun Ownership as well.

I have been member twice before.... sent them ass loads money.... heard Heston on a radio once ...."nobody neeeeds an AK-47"

    Fuck them

They wont fix anything as they would be out of a high dollar job.

They support ALL the stuff we DONT want! They ARE them.

Those that feel they are helping this fight with their check books...... would soon find that they were in fact ineffective after.....all.

Maybe we could finally get this shit overwith once and for all..... just my 2c.

I shouldnt't have to make that call...

Put the money i send you in the right place, and you shouldnt have
to call people twice a week to beg for a membership renewal or
for more money for some political action fund that does nothing
but feed a bunch of bureaucrats in the NRA.

I shouldnt even have to throw the junk mail away either.
My favorite thing to do was to stuff it all back in one of their
own "no postage nessesary" envelopes and drop it in the mail.
It costs them even more money to get the junk mail back since
they pay for the return postage on the return envelopes they receive.

Send the junk mail back to them...Let them throw it out.
