    Kabar Knife

Got this off of e-bay a while back. They don't make it anymore but a great knife! Model number was 1273. A dozier made knife.

I think they still make mine. It's a great conversation piece now that it's seen distant lands and slayed many MRE's, opened many ammo crates, and butchered a few small mammals.

Great hunk of steel with many memories. I do miss carrying it on my vest.

I believe it's one of the cheaper SpecOps brands but I always liked it because it had a great place for a multitool and was much better than electrical taping the leather sheath that comes with the ka-bar. Since it has slots to be strung, you just tied'em into the molle webbing on whatever your particular gear had. In my case, that was slipover molle bibs atop of interceptors. While it sure seemed like overkill having a "BFK," it never got lost which was the real downside of any folder with the clip. I think I lost a real nice Gerber knife during mountain warfare school and that was the last time I carried a smaller knife.

Altho it's more a piece of my "collection/selections" than a front-line carry, Ive had the "fighting knife"(read do-it-all camp/field) USMC KaBars dating back to the VN years. My current "KaBar" is actually a Camillus-made @1980 and served in Kuwait/Iraq. It's flat black with a very sharp blade, back-sharpened all the way up the clip. The sheath was replaced by a nylon carry that has a pocket large enuff to carry a small stone and a Leatherman. Very handy. Not my first choice but not my last choice either.

My KBAR that my Dad gave me when I turned 13. Carried it my entire Marine Corps career. Original sheath took a dump years ago, but the knife itself is still good as ever.
