The rifle looks solid and is about $1k less than one can build one for. Nobody has received one of these rifles from DSA yet so all comments are pure speculation. They wont ship until next month.

Keep in mind the rifles are built with surplus parts so condition can be less than new looking. People who expect otherwise need a mental adjustment. They are built with the best parts they had and refinished.

I'd have no problem buying one were I in the market.

I don't "run" my guns or "run" anything on them. Likewise, none of my guns are "platforms".

I’d take that over one of their all new rifles for the same price.

So far the consensus on the Izzy FAL receivers from DSA is good. Mine is in, I just have to go pick it up.

I have the parts kit and a barrel on hand.

Truth be told that is not a bad price and the lb Izzy FAL is a rare bird.

If I wasn't able to build, I'd buy one. I've always like the looks of Israeli Fals and never thought I'd find one without pummeling my wallet. From lurking while waitng for my membership to be approved over on the files most of the issues seem to be that people wanted the early non-flashhider version. I'm interested to see a review of of these once people start getting them.

I picked up a few kits earlier this month and look forward to building them.

    $500 kit
    $125 barrel
    $415 upper receiver
    $400 build by a reputable "FAL-smith"
    $100 shipping, etc.

    $1540 total

Price is about a wash, but the finished rifle will be more meaningful to me. I know the kit, part-by-part, and I know the builder. Cannot assume a batch-built rifle will be equal to a rifle given the individual attention of a top-notch FAL builder.

We've got a hell of a lot more in common with the fellow citizens we're being trained to hate than the puppetmasters training us to hate them.

No issues from me with using surplus parts used, gives it some character IMO.

Can definitely see where you're coming from there. Had considered that till I came across this. I've shifted from buying completed rifles (AK related) to strictly kit builds. I currently have an izzy Rguns kit waiting to be built but have a couple mismatched parts to locate or exchange. Thought of picking this up to fill the void while I locate parts for the other.

My parts kit must have slipped past the parts sorter at DSA, the Israeli kit that I got from DSA looks as good or better than the built rifle pics on their website.

I think I got lucky with some early parts. My kits are pretty used looking but nothing looks damaged or non-functional. I was planning on starting another thread so not to distract from the OP's thread.

Buddy of mine ordered one at the dealer price today and was told it'd be 5 weeks before it shipped.

    What's the dealer price?

Good to know it will be a five week wait. Gives me time to buy mags and ammo
