    Got me a new toy

Iíve wanted a mp5 clone for a long time. The price has always been the stopping point. I finally just said screw it and bought a new ptr. Iím heading to the range to shoot it tomorrow. I love the new brace from gearhead as well. The sticking point so far has been mags. I picked up a few US made mags for 50 bucks from hk parts but they are so wobbly Iím not sure their going to work. Iím not sure what mags ptr ships their guns with but they fit great.

Nice one! Give us a review once you get her on the range.

That PTR clone has received excellent reviews. A member on HK Pro did a nice review, even using an auto sear pack. I was poised to hop on the newer 'K' model, but my less than stellar experience with the Bud's 93 made me hesitate. Kind of glad I did because some initial reviews on that were less than stellar over on HK Pro. One owner sent his back and PTR replaced it with another gun. But I'm sure your 9C/CT(?) will be fine.

POF mags are gtg when you can find them, usually have to sign up for an ‘email me when back in stock’.

And move quickly on them. I'm waiting for a Zenith, and spending some time on HK Pro. There was a thread about RTG having POF mags in stock around Christmas, and they were sold out within a few hours.

PTR ships with POF mag, I believe. Never heard of a US made metal MP5 mag, got any pics?

I've read a positive review or two about the new KCI gen II mags, if you want to give them a try. The first gen were shit so.....
They are a couple bucks more expensive than POF but POF are sold out at the moment.

I don't "run" my guns or "run" anything on them. Likewise, none of my guns are "platforms".

Thanks for posting this, I learned something today.

Those US mags from HKParts are very over priced. As said above, keep an eye out for POF and get on RTG's mail list.
A couple of years ago I bought two KCI mags from HKParts to see if they would work. They did not, complete shit. HKParts refused to refund me for them because "they are now used". How the hell do they expect people to find out if they work if they can't try them without risking the ability to return them? Stupid policy.
I sold them for a 50% loss just to get rid of them and recoup something.

From now on it's HK or POF only for me. I won't even give ETS a chance for range mags until I heard a couple years of solid positive reviews.

I’m planning to find out if they work. The wobble is forward and back. I think I’ll just hold off for POF before buying more mags. KCI anything has never worked in anything I have put it in. From Glock to this they can keep it. If these us mags don’t work they will make good training mags for failures.

I would advise avoiding this idea. Whenever these rifles fail to feed or eject properly often times the result is a bent extractor spring. Then every thing goes to hell until it's replaced. For all of HK's genius I can't understand how they thought that extractor spring design was a good idea.
