OK, I'm sold. All I need is a nice discount coupon and free shipping from Brownell's.

What I can say right now about it is the adjustment for range is good and has a positive click. The windage and elevation adjustments don't seem to "click", but adjust freely. It's stiff to turn, so I don't imagine it shifting. Nice. I would imagine that allows for better precision, so as to not hit just left or right, or top or bottom of dead center, say as with regular 1/4" or so click type moa adjustments. I have this problem with my old red dot shooting just a hair left, so I think I'll be able to get it dead nuts.

Glass is new and clear, no scratches on anything. Just starting to play with it. "Retro" logo not too big or bad, probably won't cover it up. Messing with the settings rn.

Alright, a couple more things I need to add to this:

The logo, if etched, isn't etched deep. I honestly can't tell. Looks just painted on so if you decide to do something about that, you might be in business. I got over it.

If it's not shooting well, take out the gap on the sides, between the ears of the ch and the scope mount. Soda can spacers will work. I'm using aluminum tape for hvac, and I cut some strips that stick to the mount, and hide well. I'm doing this now to help avoid rounding over edges if I drop it.

I say this because on the Colt scopes this has been a problem before, and this is the solution if it pops up on the new ones. Not saying it will, or has happened on these new ones.

I don't have a Colt scope to compare this too, I only have pics and comments from tos. If Snake Handler wants to take over this thread or start a new one, you're more than welcome to. I also want to know how it compares.

Not really much more I can add until I shoot it.

Good question. If these are Japanese made, they should be just fine, and also accurate. I'm looking forward to some range reports, but for those of you that own one, unless they changed something, the BDC will only work for 55 grain bullets.

I'd like to know too. I'm on it if they're fully Japanese.
Rights are inherent. They do not come from another's wallet.

Japanese. Doesn't reference China anywhere on the scope or box, or in any of the my reading.20191010_163411_1570758058051.jpg

Japan Optics LTD (JOL), formerly Hakko, makes these in Japan. The box states:

    Manufactured by
    Brownells Inc. Montezuma, Iowa 50171
    (C) 2019 Brownells Inc.

There are different models of these scopes, from 3x, 4x, illuminated, tritium, thin crosshairs, etc... This would be a (new) later 70's 4x model, I believe with the fatter crosshairs.
